The cyclic olefin copolymer composition of the present invention includes a cyclic olefin copolymer (m) including a specific amount of a specific repeating unit and a cyclic olefin copolymer (n) different from the cyclic olefin copolymer (m). The cyclic olefin copolymer (n) includes at least one type selected from a copolymer (n1) of ethylene or &#x3b1;-olefin and cyclic olefin (where the copolymer (n1) does not include a repeating unit derived from specific cyclic non-conjugated dienes) and a cyclic olefin ring-opening polymer (n2), and when a total amount of the cyclic olefin copolymer (m) and the cyclic olefin copolymer (n) is 100% by mass, a content of the cyclic olefin copolymer (m) is 5% by mass or more to 95% by mass or less, and a content of the cyclic olefin copolymer (n) is 5% by mass or more to 95% by mass or less.

Cyclic olefin copolymer composition and cross-linked product thereof

The present invention provides an olefin resin with an improved heat resistance, reduced stickiness, excellent optical and low temperature properties, as well as the balance between these physical properties. The olefin resin according to the present invention satisfies the following requirements: (I) a melting peak (Tm) is observed within the range of from 60&#xb0; C. to 130&#xb0; C., and the heat of fusion &#x394;H at the melting peak is within the range of from 5 to 150 J/g; (II) the percentage E (wt %) of a portion soluble in o-dichlorobenzene at 20&#xb0; C. or lower, and the heat of fusion &#x394;H satisfy certain relationships; (III) the glass transition temperature (Tg) is from &#x2212;80 to &#x2212;30&#xb0; C.; (IV) the spin-spin relaxation time (T2) of a component having the highest mobility, as obtained in a four-component approximation with a Lorentzian function performed for a free induction decay curve, is within the range of from 150 to 500 ms, and the abundance ratio of the component is within the range of from 15 to 50%; and (V) the intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] as measured in decalin at 135&#xb0; C. is within the range of from 0.1 to 12 dl/g.

To provide capsular fine particles comprising an olefinic polymer which have a uniform particle size distribution and a uniform particle size, and which are spherical and free from the coagulation between particles. Capsular fine particles comprising the olefinic polymer, of which the ratio (L/M) of the outer diameter (L) to the inner diameter (M) is 1.1 to 6.0, and the average diameter is 0.6 to 40 &#x3bc;m.

The olefin polymers are polymers of Ccarbon atom olefins and have a number-average molecular weight of &#x2267;500 and Mw/Mn of &#x2266;1.5. In syntheses, an olefin of 2-20 carbon atoms is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound represented by the formula LMXwherein M is a transition metal atom of Group 3-11, m is 1-5, n is a number satisfying a valence of M, L is a ligand&#x2014;coordinated to the central metal M&#x2014;which contains a heteroatom having no direct bond to the central metal, and X is e.g. halogen or a hydrocarbon.

Olefin polymer and process for preparing the same

An ethylene (co)polymer of the present invention is a (co)polymer with excellent moldability and mechanical properties and either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin of 4 to 20 carbon atoms. The (co)polymer has methyl branches measured byC-NMR less than 0.1 in number per 1,000 carbon atoms and Mw/Mn measured by GPC not lower than 1.8 and lower than 4.5. The (co)polymer is either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms. The melt tension (MT) and the swell ratio (SR) satisfy the relation; log(MT)&#x3e;12.9&#x2212;7.15&#xd7;SR; and the intrinsic viscosity ([&#x3b7;]) and the melt flow rate (MFR) satisfy the relation; [&#x3b7;]&#x3e;1.85&#xd7;MFRin the case of MFR&#x3c;1 and the relation; [&#x3b7;]&#x3e;1.85&#xd7;MFRin the case of MFR&#x2267;1. Such an ethylene (co)polymer can be usable for various molding applications and especially suitable for pipes.

Ethylene (co) polymer and its use

Non-agglomerated spherical magnesium-containing microparticles used as magnesium-containing carrier component for olefin-polymerization catalysts that can manufacture the above microparticles are also provided.

Ethylene-based polymer microparticles, functional group-containing ethylene-based polymer microparticles, and catalyst carriers for manufacture thereof

The present invention provides an olefin polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a specific molecular weight, an olefin polymer having a functional group introduced at the terminal, a tapered polymer containing a segment wherein monomer composition continuously changes in the polymer chain, an olefin polymer having different segments which are bonded to each other, and a process for preparing these polymers. The olefin polymers of the invention are polymers of olefins of 2 to 20 carbon atoms and have a number-average molecular weight of not less than 500 and Mw/Mn of not more than 1.5. In the process for preparing an olefin polymer, an olefin of 2 to 20 carbon atoms is polymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a transition metal compound represented by, for example, the following formula (I):LMX&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein M is a transition metal atom of Group 3 to Group 11 of the periodic table, m is 1 to 5, n is a number satisfying a valence of M, L is a ligand coordinated to the central metal M and is a ligand containing a heteroatom having no direct bond to the central metal, and X is a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or the like.

An ethylene-based polymer which is a copolymer obtained from ethylene and a C3 to C10&#x3b1;-olefin and satisfies the following requirements (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) simultaneously provides a blow-molded product and an extrusion-molded product excellent in moldability, mechanical strength and outward appearance. The ethylene-based polymer of the invention is preferably produced by copolymerizing ethylene with a C3 to C10 &#x3b1;-olefin, in the presence of a solid catalyst carrying, on (C) a solid carrier, a mixed transition metal compound consisting of (A1) a group 4 transition metal compound containing a specific salicyl aldimine ligand and (A2) a group 4 transition metal compound containing a specific cyclopentadienyl ligand and (B) at least one compound selected from (b-1) an organometallic compound, (b-2) an organoaluminum oxy compound, and (b-3) a compound reacting with the transition metal compound to form an ion pair.

An ethylene (co)polymer of the present invention is a (co)polymer with excellent moldability and mechanical properties and either an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin of 4 to 20 carbon atoms. Ethylene (co)polymers and uses thereof

The invention provides a process using olefin polymerization catalysts exhibiting excellent polymerization activities.
