An object of the present invention is to provide curing agent composite particles for epoxy resin, which are less likely to aggregate, and are excellent in storage stability and solvent resistance. Coated particles of the present invention comprise (A) curing agent particles for epoxy resin, and (B) an alkoxy oligomer, wherein the surfaces of the curing agents for epoxy resin particle are coated with the alkoxy oligomer.

Provided are a latent curing agent that gives an epoxy resin composition with improved storage stability and low-temperature curability; and a curable epoxy resin composition prepared by mixing the said curing agent and an epoxy compound. The epoxy resin composition has improved storage stability, and cures at lower temperatures for a shorter period of time than conventional ones. The latent curing agent for epoxy resin comprises two components, (A) a radically polymerized polymer of a monomer having at least a polymerizable double bond, which has at least a tertiary amino group in the molecule, and (B) a polymer having at least a hydroxyl group in the molecule, and forms a solid solution that is solid at 25&#xb0; C.

Latent curing agent for epoxy resin, and curable epoxy resin composition

A latent curing agent is disclosed for epoxy resin, comprising a reaction product obtainable by allowing (A) an epoxy compound having more than one epoxy groups on the average in the molecule and (B) a compound having in the molecule both a tertiary amino group and at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of OH group, SH group, NH group, NH group, COOH group and CONHNH group, to react on each other in the presence of 0.05-5.0 equivalents of water per 1 equivalent of the epoxy group of Compound (A); and a curable epoxy resin composition comprising such curing agent and an epoxy compound having more than one epoxy group on the average in the molecule.

Curable resin composition

An epoxy-resin composition containing, as essential components, (1) an epoxy resin having two or more epoxy groups in one molecule, (2) a solid-dispersing, amine adduct-type latent hardener, and (3) a titanium and/or zirconium alkoxide(s).
