An electrophotographic printing plate precursor is disclosed, which is formed by forming a toner image on a photoconductive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising at least a conductive support and a photoconductive layer and then by removing a non-image area on the photoconductive layer other than a toner-image area, wherein said photoconductive layer comprises at least (1) an organic photoconductive compound, (2) a binder resin which is dissolved or swelled in an alkaline solution, and (3) a phosphoric acid or an analogue thereof.

In an electrophotographic lithographic printing plate precursor comprising a photoconductive layer on an electrically conductive support having a hydrophilic surface thereon which is subjected to a process which comprises formation of a toner image on said photootoconductive layer, and then removal of said photoconductive layer from nonimage portions other than said toner image portion to form a lithographic printing plate, an electrophotographic lithographic printing plate precursor treated with a water-soluble or water-dispersible solid material (edge face treatment) at the edge face thereof and a water-soluble or water-dispersible solid adge face treatment therefor. In a preferred embodiment, the edge face treatmetment is a water-soluble or water-dispersible solid drawing material.

An electrophotographic recording material is disclosed. The material comprises a support having provided thereon a photoconductive layer, in which a backing layer containing a long-chain alkanoic acid metal salt is provided on the reverse side of the support. The material has improved slipping property and excellent running durability.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor which has an electrophotographic photoreceptive layer containing as a charge generating material a particular organic compound having the general formula described hereinafter in this disclosure in a combination with a charge transporting material. The compounds improve upon the sensitivity, durability and selectivity to photosensitive wavelengths of photoreceptors. Furthermore, the photoreceptors can be easily manufactured.

An electrophotographic light-sensitive printing material having a high sensitivity and forming a good printing plate capable of providing clear copies having less stains at non-image areas is disclosed. Novel compounds are disclosed which are composed of a barbituric acid residue or a thiobarbituric acid residue and a pyrylium salt residue, thiopyrylium salt residue, benzopyrylium salt residue, or a benzothiopyrylium salt residue. The compounds are suitable as charge generating materials for an electrophotographic light-sensitive material of the type containing a charge generating material and a charge transporting material in one layer or two separate layers. The use of the compounds improves the durability and light-sensitivity of the light-sensitive material.

In an electrophotographic light-sensitive material having on a conductive support a light-sensitive layer composed of a charge generating material and a charge transporting material. A hydrazone compound is used as the charge transporting material for providing the light sensitive layer having high sensitivity and less residual surface potential. The light-sensitive layer is stable to oxidation by ozone generated by corona discharging as well as to heat and light, results in less dark decay of the surface potential. Furthermore, the layer shows less deviation in residual potential and sensitivity due to repeated use.
