Terminal fittings are capable of moving in a direction perpendicular to a direction of joining of a coil unit are located on a connector unit . Electric wires have portions insulation thereof removed, thus exposing conducting wires which lie on a bent path. If terminal members and terminal fittings show a dislocation in position when the two units and are to be joined together, the exposed portion of the conducting wires bends, and the terminal fittings change position, thereby correcting the dislocation in position and allowing the terminal members to fit without hindrance.

Electrical connecting configuration

The breaker apparatus is disclosed which comprises a projecting wall standing upright from the base of a breaker body; a pair of plate-shaped fixed electrodes laid on the front and back surfaces of the projecting wall; a recessed plug to be fitted on the projecting wall; a U-shaped movable electrode to be stored in the plug for bringing the both fixed electrodes into conduction by clamping the projecting wall on the front and back surfaces thereof; a fuse storage section for storing a fuse connected to one of the fixed electrodes in the surrounding wall standing upright from the base in parallel with the projecting wall; a cover for covering the opening of the fuse storage section and being fittable to the surrounding wall; an engaging surface formed on the plug and facing in the fitting direction of the plug; and a cover motion stopper provided on the cover for engaging with the engaging surface of the plug with the plug fitted to the projecting wall.

Breaker apparatus

A breaker apparatus comprises: a breaker switch including a pair of fixed electrodes standing upright on the breaker body, a plug detachably mounted on the breaker body, and a movable electrode provided on the plug for disconnecting and connecting between both fixed electrodes by being pulled out or pushed in to the both fixed electrodes; and a fuse mounted in parallel with the breaker switch, characterized in that a locking lever is pivotably mounted on one of the breaker body and the plug and the locking lever is pivoted to the locking position where the plug is locked in the fitted state, in that the breaker body is provided with a micro switch having a swinging strip for detecting whether or not the locking lever is pivoted to the locking position so that the micro switch is activated when the tip of the locking lever pivots along the length of the swinging strip and presses the swinging strip on the way to activate the micro switch, and in that the tip of the locking lever is formed so that the length is maximum at the rear edge that trails when the locking lever is pivoted toward the locking position and decreases gradually toward the leading edge.

In the breaker device, a pair of stationary electrodes are arranged on the front and the rear side of the protruding wall , that is, the pair of stationary electrodes are collected at one place. Therefore, the pair of stationary electrodes have a space round both the stationary electrodes in common. Accordingly, the size of the breaker device can be reduced. Further, when the radius of curvature of the continuity section connecting the pinching pieces is made large, concentration of stress in the movable electrode can be relieved. Therefore, the pinching forces of both the pinching pieces can be increased. Accordingly, it is possible to ensure a sufficiently high contact pressure between the movable electrode and the stationary electrodes

Appliance connector and production method thereof

To produce a coil device in which fewer components are required, a plurality of coils 20 are attached to an attachment base 10, leading wires 24 of each coil 20 being attached to terminal fittings 30A and 30B of a connector member 13, and a feeder connector C being fitted with the connector member 13. Electricity is distributed to each coil 20 along a path of feeder electric wires W, the feeder connector C, the connector member 13, and leading wires 24. The leading wires 24 of the plurality of coils 20 are attached as a single unit to the single connector member 13. Since the feeder connector C is attached to this connector member 13, fewer components are required compared to the case in which each coil 20 is provided with an individual connector member.

Coil device

A connector is provided to improve the reliability of a primary locking function by an elastic lock piece without deteriorating a secondary locking function and an insufficient insertion detecting function of a retainer. When female terminals (20) are properly inserted, a retainer (30) can be pushed to its fully fitted state or full lock position since elastic lock pieces (14) are not located in deformation permitting spaces (15). When there is/are insufficiently inserted terminal(s) (20), the retainer (30) cannot be pushed to its fully fitted state or full lock position since it comes into contact with the elastic lock pieces (14) in the spaces (15). Since a lock projection and the elastic lock piece (14) are locked outside the terminal (20), a large engaging space of the lock projection (23) with the elastic lock piece (14) can be ensured without restricting a projecting amount of the lock projections (23) by the internal construction of the terminals (20).

Connector with terminal locking and locking assurance features

A resilient contact piece portion is provided within a connection portion of a female metal terminal, and is folded back at a position spaced forwardly from a front end of the connection portion, thus forming a folded portion of a generally inverted V-shaped cross-sectional shape. Relief recesses for respectively receiving the projected folded portions are formed in a front plate of cavities in a female housing. Thus, a contact portion is shifted forwardly within the connection portion while the cross-sectional shape remains unchanged as before. The contact portion of the resilient contact piece portion is shifted forwardly, and therefore even if the length of projecting of a tab portion is short, a positive electrical connection between the tab portion and the resilient contact piece portion is achieved.

A spring contact, biased toward a retaining plate, holds the connection terminal in good electrical contact. The resilience of the spring contact permits relative movement between the contacts, thereby accommodating dimensional changes resulting from variations in ambient temperatures. The spring contact may be on the bulb terminal or on the connector terminal. An engaging element is provided on the leading end of the connection terminal; this element engages a retainer on the bulb terminal to further secure the components in their desired position.

L-shaped bulb connector

An electrical connector assembly includes a male connector, a female connector, a guiding portion and a positioning portion. The male connector has a male connector housing with a terminal side through which male terminals extend. The female connector has a female connector housing with female terminals disposed to connect with the male terminals through a terminal side of the female connector housing. In a preferred embodiment, the guiding portion guides the female connector in a guiding direction that intersects a normal axis extending perpendicular to the terminal side of the male connector. The positioning portion stops the female connector upon contacting the positioning portion in a position at which the male terminals are aligned with the female terminals. As a result, a reliable electrical connection can be established even if the space for fitting the male and female connectors together is limited.

Electrical connection structure and method

An arm formed in the wall of an element receptacle undergoes elastic deformation under the influence of a contact fitting. Accordingly, wider range tolerances in the elements can be accommodated without causing permanent deformation of the contact fitting. As an alternative construction, there is a locking part on the receptacle which does not deform, but instead the contact fitting is displaced as the element is inserted.

Electrical element socket

A connector having male and female terminals can be positively connected together without requiring alignment precision on the part of the housing for the terminals. A male terminal has a round stem with a large diameter proximal end portion and a small diameter distal end portion. A female terminal has a connection portion formed on a triangular horizontal cross-section and a pair of holding plate portions extending from a base plate portion. The connection portion can resiliently fit on an outer periphery of the large diameter portion. An insertion groove, which is slightly smaller than the diameter of the small diameter portion, is formed between front ends of the two holding plate portions. A pair of outwardly-opening guide plate portions are formed on opposite edges of the insertion groove so the female terminal can be fitted on the round stem and the small diameter portion is guided by the guide plate portions to fit in the insertion groove. The female and male terminals are thus positioned with respect to each other. When the female terminal is pushed further, the small diameter portion passes through the insertion groove. The female terminal is pushed downwardly so the connection portion fits on the outer periphery of the large diameter portion.

Connector assembly with cooperating terminals and method for connecting

A retainer 16 is temporarily coupled to an inlet port of a connector chamber 7 in a housing 5 so that the retainer cannot come out of the chamber 7. A terminal metal fixture (metal terminal) 1 is inserted into the housing 5 through an opening formed in a rear wall of the housing in an axial direction of a bulb holding chamber 6. Then, the retainer 16 which is temporarily coupled to the chamber 7 is pushed into the connector chamber which receiving coupling pieces 3 of the fixtures 1 in holding apertures 17 in the retainer 17. When the retainer 16 reaches an inner section in the chamber 7, a lock projection 18 on the retainer engages with a lock face 14 in a longitudinal slot 12 formed in the rear wall of the housing 5, thereby bringing the retainer into a regular coupling position. Proximal ends of the coupling pieces 3, which is arranged perpendicularly to an inserting direction of the fixtures 1, are fitted in the holding apertures 17 in the retainer 16 which is secured in the housing 5. The retainer 16 is provided on its inner face of a side plate 28 with a guide slant face 281 a lower end of which is contiguous to rear end edges of the apertures 17. The apertures 17 are provided on their front, right and left end edges with guide slant faces 26. After the fixtures 1 are inserted into the housing 5 from its rear side, the retainer is pushed into the connector chamber 7 through the inlet port of the chamber 7. If the fixtures 1 are shifted, the fixtures 1 are corrected in position while the distal ends of the coupling pieces 3 contact with the guide slant faces 281 or 26 to insert them into the apertures 17. The retainer 16 is secured in the housing 5 when it reaches the inner section of the chamber 7.

L-shaped bulb socket

This invention aims to prevent terminal metal fixtures in an L-shaped bulb socket from being exposed and to positively hold the fixtures. Each terminal metal fixture (metal terminal) 1 is inserted into a fixture accommodating chamber 15 in an axial direction of a connector inlet port 9 through a fixture insertion opening 17 formed in a rear wall of a housing 7 while a male terminal 5 of the fixture 1 is being fitted to a through-hole 14 formed in a fixture holding wall 13. Then, a lid member 19 is thrusted in the opening 17 in an axial direction of a bulb inlet port 8 on a thrust groove 21 formed in an end face of the bulb inlet port 8. Thus, the opening 17 is covered by the lid member 19. A side plate 4 of clamp portions 2 of each terminal metal fixture 1 is clamped in a space between a stepped face 24 on the housing 7 and the lid member 19, thereby preventing the fixture 1 from moving vertically or horizontally. Also, the male terminal 5 is closely fitted in the through-hole 14, thereby preventing the fixture 1 from moving.
