A vehicle includes an internal combustion engine; an engine body at least partially located at a center in a vehicle width direction; a first chamber provided in an exhaust passage extending from the engine body; and a second chamber provided downstream of the first chamber in the exhaust passage, in which the first chamber and the second chamber are each located behind the engine body, and at least a part of the first chamber and at least a part of the second chamber overlap the engine body in a vehicle width direction and a height direction, respectively. This vehicle structure can contribute to downsizing of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine in a vehicle including a vehicle frequently used to travel on an uneven ground.

Vehicle

An exhaust muffler structure to which an exhaust pipe for guiding exhaust gas from an engine to an exhaust muffler is connected, the exhaust muffler structure comprising a catalyst device, included inside the exhaust muffler structure, having a catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas of the engine, wherein the catalyst device has one end connected to the exhaust pipe and is supported inside the exhaust muffler via the exhaust pipe, and a body portion of the catalyst device is supported by a first partition wall having an inner partition wall and an outer partition wall that is on the outer side of the inner partition wall, and the outer partition wall is fixed to the inner wall of the exhaust muffler, and the inner partition wall is fixed to the outer wall of the catalyst device.

Exhaust muffler structure

A fuel supply structure for a saddled vehicle, includes: an upstream-side fuel supply system guiding fuel from a fuel tank to a fuel pump side; a downstream-side fuel supply system guiding the fuel from the pump to a fuel injection valve side; and an excess fuel return system returning excess fuel from the downstream-side fuel supply system to the tank side. A fuel hose joint is attached to the tank and includes: an insertion tube portion inserted into the tank and formed into a dual tube structure where an inner tube is covered by an outer tube; a first connection tube portion communicating with inside of the inner tube; and a second connection tube portion communicating with inside of the outer tube. A fuel suction hose is connected to one of the first and second connection tube portions, and a fuel return hose is connected to an other thereof.

Fuel supply structure for saddled vehicle

In a saddled vehicle, an internal combustion engine is disposed below a fuel tank and a riding seal disposed behind the fuel tank. A fuel pump is supported by a front body frame that suspends a front wheel, the fuel pump being disposed at a position where at least part of the fuel pump overlaps with the front wheel as seen in a side view. The fuel tank is supported on an upper frame member that configures part of the body frame. A protection member is extended between the upper frame member and the front body frame, and passes a front of the engine body as seen in a side view. A fuel suction pipe line is covered by the protection member from an outer lateral side and locked to the protection member, the fuel suction pipe line sucking fuel form the fuel tank to the fuel pump side.

Saddled vehicle

In an evaporated fuel control device for a saddled vehicle, a canister and an evaporated fuel control valve are supported by a body frame around a fuel tank, the canister adsorbing evaporated fuel from the fuel tank, the evaporated fuel control valve controlling a flow rate of the evaporated fuel that is purged from the canister and flows through an intake system of the internal combustion engine. The canister is disposed between a steering shaft and the fuel tank and below an imaginary horizontal plane that passes a lowermost surface of the fuel tank, the steering shaft extending in an up-down direction while inclining downward to a front in front of the fuel tank.

Evaporated fuel control device for saddled vehicle

To enable the effective supply of fuel in a low remaining fuel condition, even in a saddle-ride vehicle with a requirement for an increased fuel tank capacity being provided within a limited amount of space. The saddle-ride vehicle includes an engine having a cylinder disposed on a crankcase; an intake system component disposed at the rear of the cylinder for sucking air into the engine; and a fuel tank disposed above the engine for storing fuel. The saddle-ride type vehicle includes a fuel suction port in a side bottom plate portion of the fuel tank for feeding fuel to the intake system component. The saddle-ride vehicle has a sub-chamber having a wall that surrounds the fuel suction port and the sub-chamber includes a fuel flow opening toward the vehicle rear.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

A fuel supply structure of a saddle-ride type vehicle wherein a wrong operation of a hose locking member is more securely prevented during maintenance of the vehicle to enhance the maintainability without increasing the number of parts. Fuel supplied from a fuel tank to a throttle body is supplied via fuel supply parts through a flexible fuel hose. A cover member for covering the fuel supply parts is provided. The cover member is provided with a cover that covers a fuel hose locking member for locking the connection of the fuel hose and each fuel supply part. In addition, the cover covers the fuel hose locking member to disenable removing the fuel hose locking member.

Fuel supply structure of saddle-ride type vehicle

A fuel supply structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle wherein fuel supplied from a fuel tank to a fuel injection valve is supplied via fuel supply parts supported by a body frame having a single main frame extending rearwardly in a vehicle body from a head pipe with a pendent part being curved and extending downwardly in the vehicle body at a rear end of the main frame. Center frames extend in a lateral direction of the vehicle body from a halfway part in a vertical direction of the vehicle body of the pendent part and being provided with frame overhanged parts extending diagonally downwardly and extending further downwardly. The fuel supply parts are provided in an inside space enclosed by the center frames and the pendent part and in an overhanged part upside space on the upsides of the frame overhanged parts.

An engine control system, for controlling an engine of a jet-propulsion boat, includes a cavitation-control-mode determination unit, which starts a cavitation-control mode when an engine speed not faster than 3200 rpm is maintained for a predetermined time period. During a normal sailing operation, ignition timing is set by a first ignition-timing setting unit. Upon detection of a cavitation-control-mode by the cavitation-control-mode determination unit, an engine speed is raised up to a speed not slower than 3200 rpm, which makes an ignition-timing switching unit to select a second ignition-timing setting unit. The second ignition-timing setting unit retards the ignition timing for the normal sailing operation when the engine speed becomes 6500 rpm or faster. In addition to retardation of the ignition timing, a boost pressure control command upper-limit value is switched to a value at a startup operation, which is less than a value at the normal sailing operation.

Engine control system for jet-propulsion boat, jet-propulsion boat incorporating same, and method of using same

An exhaust system for a small watercraft for effectively reducing exhaust noise and allowing a high output of an engine to be easily obtained at the time of high speed operation. An exhaust outlet of an exhaust pipe extending from an engine provided in a watercraft body is disposed at a position that allows it to sink in the water at the time when a travel speed of the watercraft body is a predetermined speed or less. The exhaust outlet is raised above the water at the time when the travel speed of the watercraft body exceeds the predetermined speed. An open surface of the exhaust outlet is offset toward a side wall surface of a pump chamber from a center of a jet pump in the pump chamber and is made oblique toward the side wall surface toward which the open surface of the exhaust outlet is offset.

Exhaust system for small watercraft

A jet-propelled watercraft capable of maintaining a propulsion force required for a turn made at the same time as closing of a throttle valve. The jet-propelled watercraft has an auxiliary intake valve and an ECU. The auxiliary intake valve in an intake pipe opens/closes an auxiliary intake passage to bypass a throttle valve. The ECU performs control such that an opening of the auxiliary intake valve in a state where the rotation speed of the engine is not lower than a threshold value is larger than the opening of the auxiliary intake valve in a state where the engine is idling. When in a state where the rotation speed is not lower than the threshold value, it is detected that the throttle valve is completely closed and that a steering mechanism has been turned by a prescribed angle or more, a current opening of the auxiliary intake valve is maintained.

Jet-propelled watercraft

In an air intake assembly, a portion of an inner peripheral wall of an intake funnel pipe is provided as a pivotally movable blocking body, so that when unthrottled, an inner wall surface of the blocking body is flush with the inner peripheral wall of the funnel pipe. The blocking body has a substantially trianglular outline shape, the apex of which is positioned on top when viewed along the axis of the support shaft. The support shaft is positioned at the apex of the blocking body, and allows pivotal movement of the blocking body, on the downstream side thereof, to allow adjustment of the rate of air flow through the funnel pipe. The blocking body within the funnel pipe of an air intake assembly allows a smooth flow of air therepast when actuated to throttle the air intake channel, and does not obstruct the air intake channel when inactive.
