A cooling structure for an in-wheel motor includes an in-wheel motor mounted within a wheel of a vehicle to drive the wheel or to be driven by the wheel, and an oil channel and a fin serving as 'heat radiating portions' to facilitate cooling of the in-wheel motor. The in-wheel motor has a case serving as a 'housing'. The &#x201c;heat radiating portion&#x201d; is located apart from the case.

Cooling structure for in-wheel motor

An electrically driven wheel includes a wheel disc and a wheel hub; an in-wheel motor mounted within the wheel disc to drive the wheel disc and the wheel hub or to be driven by the wheel disc and the wheel hub; a brake rotor and a brake caliper suppressing rotation of the wheel disc and the wheel hub while a vehicle is moving; and a parking lock mechanism provided in the in-wheel motor separately from a brake mechanism formed of the brake rotor and the brake caliper. The parking lock mechanism is a band-type brake frictionally engaging a planetary carrier serving as an 'output portion' of a 'reduction mechanism'.

Electrically driven wheel and vehicle

A wheel support device () includes a spring () fitted to an in-wheel motor () and damping the vibration of a motor-driven wheel () and the in-wheel motor () by extending and retracting, a knuckle () attached to the spring () and rotatably supporting the motor-driven wheel (), a center part () of a dynamic mass damper mechanism () vibrating together with the in-wheel motor () by a force given from a road surface when a vehicle runs, an upper part () thereof restricting the vibration of the in-wheel motor () by coming into contact with the center part () at a prescribed region, and a cushioning member () fitted to a portion of the center part () or the upper part () corresponding to the prescribed region brought into contact with the other.

Wheel support device

A wheel supporting apparatus includes dampers, ball joints, a knuckle, an upper arm and a lower arm. The dampers are attached to a case of an in-wheel motor in the top-bottom direction of the vehicle's body and are connected respectively to the ball joints. The upper arm and the lower arm have respective one-ends connected to respective dampers via the ball joints and respective other ends pivotably fixed to the vehicle's body. The knuckle is connected to the ball joints to rotatably support a wheel hub via hub bearings.

A frame for an electric motor is provided with a high heat discharge efficiency at low manufacturing cost wherein a plurality of cooling media paths, grooves, groove paths, media paths and communication paths are formed on the frame using a diecast process. A plurality of fins are formed in the grooves and a plurality of cooling media guide members are secured about the periphery of the frame to control the flow of the cooling media.

A water pump having a pump impeller and a cup-like disk disposed to be movable along a rotation shaft driven by the engine, a space for passing water being formed between the pump impeller and the cup-like disk, the pump impeller and the cup-like disk being engaged each other by the engagement of vanes and grooves formed at least one side of them respectively, the distance between the pump impeller and the cup-like disk being varied according to the change of water temperature or the change of rotation speed of the engine, thereby to make it possible to adjust the water flow rate of the pump.
