An information recording apparatus (SSI) is provided with: a signal process device () for applying a predetermined signal process to a plurality of partial record information blocks constructing whole record information (R) to thereby generate processed partial record information blocks (Sr) each composed of a plurality of predetermined information units (IU), and for generating and outputting recording position information (Sac), which is to be recorded by each of predetermined reproduction units (VOBU) composing the information units, for respective one of the reproduction units. The recording position information indicates recording positions of the reproduction units corresponding to reproduction times of the partial record information blocks within a predetermined range before and after the respective one of the reproduction units on an axis of reproduction time of each of the partial record information blocks. The information recording apparatus is also provided with; a multiplex device () for multiplexing the processed partial record information blocks and the recording position information by each of the reproduction units to thereby output multiplexed partial record information (Sap); and a record device () for recording the multiplexed partial record information onto the information record medium.

An information recording medium includes: a plurality of recorded information pieces being independent of each other; a plurality of individual attribute information pieces each corresponding to each of the recorded information piece and including information relating to attributes of the recorded information piece and functions in reproduction; and an aggregate attribute information piece, recorded at a position read out prior to any other positions on said recording medium, and including at least a part of the individual attribute information piece for all of the recorded information pieces.

An information record medium having a record track recorded with at least video information is to be reproduced by a reproducing apparatus, which has a read device and reproduces at least video information while relatively moving the read device along the record track. At least video information and control information comprising access information to access the video information are recorded on the record track and are each divided into a plurality of first data groups, each of which is a unit accessible by the reproducing apparatus and comprises the video and control informations. An information record medium (DVD) has a record track recorded with record information to be reproduced by an information reproducing apparatus (S). An information reproducing apparatus has a read device, is capable of reproducing sub picture information and is also capable of performing a highlight display of the sub picture information. In an information record medium to be reproduced by this reproducing apparatus, at least the sub picture information and reproduction control information to control a reproduction of the sub picture information are recorded on the record track such that the sub picture information and the reproduction control information are divided into a plurality of groups. On the first recording layer, a lead-in area, management information for the whole of recording information, and the data group are recorded. On the second recording layer, a lead-out area and a data group are recorded. The lead-in area is recorded at the inner radius side of the information record medium. The lead-out area is recorded at the inner radius side of the information record medium. An information converting method of converting audio information, which comprises a plurality of partial-audio information based on a predetermined record standard in each of which output control information to control a state of the audio information at a time of outputting the audio information to an external portion is included, into transmission information to be transmitted through a data bus based on a predetermined transmission standard, is provided with: an extracting process of extracting the output control information from each of the partial-audio information; a dividing process of dividing the audio information for each information amount, which is set in advance so as to transmit the transmission information through the data bus, to thereby generate divided-audio information; a generating process of adding the extracted output control information onto the generated divided-audio information to thereby generate an information unit for transmitting the audio information through the data bus; and an outputting process of generating the transmission information by using a plurality of the generated information units and outputting the generated transmission information onto the data bus.

An audio information reproducing apparatus for reproducing audio information on a recording medium, which can be connected with a bus. In the medium reproducing control information for controlling a reproducing mode of the audio information and the audio information are recorded. In the apparatus a detecting device detects the audio information and the reproducing control information from the medium. The information recording unit has a memory for firstly storing data, a record medium for intermittently recording the stored data in the memory, a record means for recording the data on the record medium, and a valid-data decision means for determining whether the recorded data is valid. The record means records the data in at least two different areas on the record medium, and the decision determines one valid data among the recorded data in the different areas. The unit includes a record control means for controlling the record means. The record control means provides a control command for the record means to record a predetermined quantity of data stored in the memory at a first recording location on the record medium and also provides a control command for the record means to read the predetermined quantity of the data at least one recording location different from the first recording location after the predetermined quantity of the data is recorded at the first recording location.
