A system includes a content server device for performing content distribution in a network; a reception terminal device capable of reproducing a content having a specific format; a plurality of transcoder devices provided in the network, for applying format conversion to a content distributed in the network; and a transcoder management device for searching, in response to a search request sent from the reception terminal device, information on the plurality of transcoder devices, and sending to the reception terminal device, as a search result, a transmission path which runs from the content server device to the reception terminal device via at least one of the plurality of transcoder devices, through which format conversion to a desired content can be performed.

Stream distribution system

An RTP packet generating unitpacketizes data into packets, and adds identification information to the header of each of the packets, the identification information identifying each of the packets. An RTP packet encrypting unitdivides data included in each of the generated packets into blocks, and encrypts the data included in each of the packets on a block-by-block basis using an encryption key which an encryption key sharing unitshares with a receiving client in such a manner that, when encrypting a first block of the data, the packet encrypting unit encrypts it using the identification information for identifying each of the packets, which is contained, as an initial vector, in the header of each of the packets, and, when encrypting each subsequent block of the data, encrypts it according to an encryption method which uses an immediately-previously-encrypted block.

Data distribution apparatus and data communications system

A media delivering apparatus and method for delivering media data via a network to a media receiving apparatus is disclosed. The delivering apparatus includes a parameter acquiring unit which acquires both a communication capability of the network, and the receiving capability of the media receiving apparatus. A media selecting unit selects media data to be delivered based on both the degree of media importance assigned to each media data and at least the one of the communication capability of the network and the receiving capability of the media receiving apparatus. A transmission-data generating unit generates metadata in which both address information about each selected media data and presentation layout information are described. A data transmitting unit delivers the metadata to the media receiving apparatus by way of the network, and a media communication unit delivers the media data in response to a request from the media receiving apparatus.

A software linking system in an information processor having an operating system in which plural sets of software are operable, includes an information obtaining means for obtaining information within the information processor, an anchor identifying means for judging whether or not there exists anchor information for specifying a linkage condition under which linking-source software recognizes linked software on the basis of the information obtained by the information obtaining means, and a linkage executing means for executing the linked software performing a linking operation corresponding to the anchor information identified by the anchor identifying means, whereby an anchor process is executed outside the linking software without changing the linking software and a file in a format thereof with the result that the software runs both on a linking source side and on a linked side.
