A safety unit is provided for this purpose, and includes a position determining unit, a speed determining unit, a logical product unit, and a stopping unit. When a rotation amount (positional data) of an encoder rotating in connection with a rotation shaft of a servo motor falls within a predetermined limiting range, the position determining unit outputs a command for stopping a motor to a logical product unit. When rotation speed of the encoder rotating in connection with the rotation shaft of the servo motor falls within a predetermined limiting range, the speed determining unit outputs the command for stopping the motor to the logical product unit. This control by the logical product unit requires a stop command from both the position and speed determining units. The logical product unit informs the stopping unit to stop the servo motor to a controller.

Apparatus for controlling power source

The operation state of a servo motor is monitored and output to a user before automatic termination of power to the motor. A servo system includes a servo motor and a safety unit. The safety unit cuts off electric power to the servo motor when at least one of a speed, a position, acceleration, an amount of movement, a movement direction, and torque of the servo motor is outside a first operation range. Furthermore, the safety unit outputs a warning when at least one of the speed, the position, the acceleration, the amount of movement, the movement direction, the torque is within the first operation range, but is outside a second operation range that is narrower than the first operation range. User controls allow reduced operation when outside the second operation range.

Drive control apparatus

A signal output unit generates an A phase output signal of a rectangular wave and a B phase output signal of a rectangular wave from the A phase sinusoidal wave signal and the B phase sinusoidal wave signal, respectively and outputs the generated signals. An internal signal generating unit (comparator) generates an A phase internal signal of a rectangular wave and a B phase internal signal of a rectangular wave from the A phase sinusoidal wave signal and the B phase sinusoidal wave signal, respectively, which are further processed by counters, and an abnormality detector. Each counter resets in response to a pulse edge of a signal for detection. The abnormality detector detects an abnormality when the count value of at least one of counters reaches a prescribed value.

A servo driver sets an instruction value for an operation of a servo motor based on an instruction signal from a controller. The servo driver sends the instruction value and a feedback value obtained based on a feedback signal to a safety unit. When at least one of the instruction value and the feedback value sent by the servo driver has an abnormal value, an STO signal is generated and sent to the servo driver. When the STO signal is input to the servo driver, the servo driver stops the supply of electricity to the servo motor.

Servo system, servo motor driving device, safety unit and method for controlling servo system

An inverter has a measuring part that measures an operating time such as the time interval from when a command to start a specified operation by an associated system until a signal indicating the completion of the operation is received. A comparing part compares this measured operating time with a threshold value stored in a memory and an abnormal condition is reported to a host system, depending on the result of the comparison.

A semiconductor device to be mounted on an external electronic device includes a film substrate on which wiring electrodes are formed, the wiring electrodes being partially covered with a covering member; and a semiconductor chip mounted on the film substrate. In this semiconductor device, the film substrate is folded so that at least one edge of the film substrate is on a side opposite to a side on which the semiconductor chip is mounted, and portions of the wiring electrodes exposed from the covering member on a surface of the film substrate on which the semiconductor chip is mounted are to be connected to electrodes of an external electronic device.
