A continuously variable transmission includes a transmission belt including a plurality of elements and a ring and wound around V-grooves of first and second pulleys, each of the plurality of elements including a body portion having a saddle surface and a pair of pillar portions extended from the body portion so as to be located on both sides in a lateral direction of the saddle surface, and the ring being disposed between the pair of pillar portions of each of the plurality of elements. When one of the first and second pulleys has its minimum groove width, at least a part in a thickness direction of the ring wound around the one of the first and second pulleys protrudes radially outward beyond an outermost circumference of a surface of the V-groove of the one of the first and second pulleys.

Continuously variable transmission and transmission belt

Elements of a transmission belt wound around pulleys of a continuously variable transmission each include a body part, a pair of pillar parts, and a pair of side surfaces. The pair of side surfaces each include a first side surface formed on a corresponding one of the pillar parts; and a second side surface formed so as to continue from the first side surface, and located more on an inner circumference side than the first side surface. A pair of the first side surfaces each are formed so as to be inclined toward an inner side of a corresponding one of the pillar parts with respect to an extending direction, from an inner circumference side to an outer circumference side of a ring, of a corresponding one of the second side surfaces continuing from the first side surface, and a pair of the second side surfaces is formed such that the second side surfaces are spaced farther apart from each other as the second side surfaces extend from the inner circumference side to the outer circumference side, and that an angle formed between the pair of the second side surfaces is larger by 0.2 to 0.8 degrees than an opening angle of V-shaped grooves of the pulleys.

Transmission belt and continuously variable transmission, method for designing element, and method for producing element

An element for a transmission belt that is wound around a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission includes: a trunk portion having a saddle surface that is in contact with a ring of the transmission belt; and a pair of pillar portions extending from the trunk portion so as to be positioned on both sides of the saddle surface in a width direction. The saddle surface is a convex surface that is formed by an elliptic arc and satisfies b/a&#x2264;0.015 when a long diameter of the elliptic arc is regarded as 'a' and a short diameter of the elliptic arc is regarded as 'b'. In this way, it is possible to optimize the stress distribution of the ring that is in contact with the saddle surface and improve the durability of the ring and the transmission belt.

Transmission belt element and transmission belt

A continuously variable transmission includes a transmission belt including a plurality of elements each including a pair of pillar portions and a ring arranged between the pair of pillar portions of each of the plurality of elements, and a lubricant supply portion arranged on an inner side of the transmission belt in a radial direction. Each of the plurality of elements further includes a pair of rocking edge portions formed away from each other in a width direction, and a non-contact portion extending between the pair of rocking edge portions in the width direction along a saddle surface. A clearance that communicates the non-contact portion and a region on an inner side in the radial direction with respect to the transmission belt is formed between the elements included in a looped portion of the transmission belt around a first or second pulley.

An element of a transmission belt includes a pair of rocking edge portions with a convex surface, these are formed on one of a front face and a rear face to extend a part of the rocking edge portion over a pillar portion, and the rocking edge portions are spaced away from each other in a width direction; and a non-contact portion extended along a saddle surface in the width direction between the rocking edge portions, in non-contact with an adjacent element. S/A&#x2265;3.5 is satisfied, when a sum of widths of end portions of the rocking edge portions on an outer peripheral side of the transmission belt is set as 'A'. A sum of surface areas of parts of the pillar portions on the outer peripheral side of the transmission belt is set as 'S'.

Transmission belt and transmission belt element

A transfer belt wound between a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission, the transfer belt including: a plurality of elements, each of which has a body that includes a saddle surface and a pair of pillars that extend toward a radially outer side of the transfer belt from both sides of the saddle surface in a width direction; and a bind ring that binds the plurality of elements annularly with an inner peripheral surface of the bind ring contacting the saddle surface of each of the plurality of elements.

In an element of a power transfer belt to be wound around a primary pulley and a secondary pulley of a continuously variable transmission to transfer torque, the distance from a boundary line between a surface positioned on the outer peripheral side of the power transfer belt with respect to a rocking edge portion and the rocking edge portion to a saddle surface is determined from the slip amount due to micro slip which is relative slipping between the element and the primary pulley caused when the primary pulley pushes out the power transfer belt toward the secondary pulley, and the angular speed of the element and the angular speed of a ring in a range in which the power transfer belt is wound around the secondary pulley.

Element designing method and power transfer belt

A transmission belt is formed by a plurality of elements each having: a body portion including a saddle surface that contacts an inner peripheral surface of an endless ring and a pair of pillar portions that are extended outward in the radial direction of the transmission belt from both lateral sides of the saddle surface; a first surface that is formed on one side of the body portion in the circumferential direction of the transmission belt and a second surface that is formed on the other side of the body portion in the circumferential direction of the transmission belt; and rocking edge portions that are formed at both lateral ends of the first surface so as to be separated from each other and that act as a fulcrum when adjacent ones of the elements contact each other and rotate relative to each other. The rocking edge portions are formed by a curved surface so as to have a width from a position outside the saddle surface to a position inside the saddle surface in the radial direction of the transmission belt. A portion connecting the first surface and the saddle surface is formed so as to be located closer to the second surface than the rocking edge portions are in the circumferential direction of the transmission belt.

In a hydraulic control device of a belt-type continuously variable transmission that includes: a first hydraulic actuator that is provided in a primary pulley and reduces a width of a belt groove when hydraulic pressure is applied thereto; and a first control valve that regulates predetermined source pressure to be gear-change hydraulic pressure for setting or changing a gear change ratio and outputs the gear-change hydraulic pressure to the first hydraulic actuator, gear change equipment is included that regulates the source pressure to be the gear-change hydraulic pressure so as to regulate the hydraulic pressure of the first hydraulic actuator when the hydraulic pressure of the first hydraulic actuator is rapidly changed to change the width of the belt groove.

Hydraulic control device of belt-type continuously variable transmission

When an SLT pressure of a linear solenoid valve is input into a control oil chamber of a garage shift control valve, and a direct control pressure from the garage shift control valve is output to a clutch or a brake, a hydraulic controller inputs the direct control pressure into a control oil chamber and executes feedback-control. Also, when a range pressure of a clutch modulator valve is output to the clutch or the brake by switching the garage shift valve, the hydraulic controller inputs the range pressure, which is higher than the SLT pressure, into the control oil chamber and fixes the garage shift control valve.

Hydraulic controller for an automatic transmission

For achieving a high accuracy line pressure control and a high line pressure, a valve control system outputs a first signal pressure to a primary regulator valve as a second signal pressure when the first signal pressure is low. The valve control system outputs a gain pressure higher than the first signal pressure to the primary regulator valve as the second signal pressure when the first signal pressure is high. A change amount of the line pressure from the primary regulator valve concerning with a change amount of the first signal pressure is a gain. The gain is a low gain which increases the accuracy of the line pressure control when the first signal pressure is low, and the gain is a high gain with which the high line pressure is output when the first signal pressure is high.
