In an elevator, a transmission sheave is attached to a mount structure fastened to a guide rail. A speed governor rope suspended from a speed governor is coupled with an elevator car that ascends and descends in a shaft, and is wound on the transmission sheave. An idler pulley is provided for increasing a winding angle with respect to the transmission sheave by changing movement of the speed governor rope 4. A position detection apparatus is provided for detecting the position of the car in the shaft based upon the rotation of the transmission sheave. The position detection apparatus can be installed in an empty space in the shaft without the need of a repair of an existing speed governor to save the repair costs of the elevator.

A speed detector device capable of making speed measurements of an elevator in its relatively slow speed region comprises a pulse generator generating two-phase pulse signals with a predetermined phase difference between both signals, in a period according to the rotational speed of a motor, a pulse processing circuit for outputting corresponding triggers in response to the rising edge and the falling edge of each of the pulse signals generated by the pulse generator, a timer counter, latches for latching the output of the timer counter at the timing of the triggers, and calculating circuit for calculating the period of the pulse signals based on the timer counter output and for calculating the speed of the elevator based on the period calculated. The above arrangement allows data to be latched not only at the rising edge of the one pulse signal, but also at the falling edge of the same pulse signal and the rising and falling edges of the other pulse. Thus, even if no rising edge exists during a CPU read cycle, speed detection is possible at the other rising edges. Thus, accurate speed measurements are achieved.

Speed detector device for elevator

An emergency intercommunication system for an elevator has an interphone unit and an intercommunication command switch located in an elevator car. A telephone number input apparatus for inputting the desired telephone number is provided in an elevator hall, in connection with a register apparatus for storing the input telephone number. An intercommunication command detecting section for detecting the actuation of the switch is provided in connection with an emergency call apparatus for automatically dialing the stored telephone number to connect the interphone unit with a telephone having the telephone number when the actuation of the switch is detected by the detecting apparatus. Preferably, an identification number input apparatus is provided in the elevator hall so that the register apparatus stores the telephone number only when it is input together with a predetermined identification number.

Emergency intercommunication system for elevator

A call registration apparatus for an elevator system includes a call registration lamp and a car call button disposed in an elevator car and connected by a common signal line to a CPU. When the call button is pressed a first time, the CPU registers a call and turns on the call registration lamp. When the elevator car reaches a floor, the CPU makes the call registration lamp flicker. If the call button is pressed while the lamp is flickering, the CPU performs a door opening or door closing operation.

Call registration apparatus in an elevator system

An apparatus for transmitting signals for group supervision of elevators having a group supervising device which receives hall calling signals for and assigns the hall callings to different cages, a plurality of controllers in a machine room connected by signal lines to the group supervising device, signal transmitter/receivers provided in the controllers, and connected in series through signal lines for transmitting and receiving signals through the signal lines, call buttons connected to signal transmitters/receivers on respective floors for generating the hall calling signals, and calling signal transmitters provided in the controllers for transmitting the hall calling signal to the supervising device.

Apparatus for transmitting signal for group supervision of elevators

A signal transfer system for an elevator including a master station and a plurality of slave stations, each slave station having provision for generating call signals and illuminating a call registratioin lamp. The master station generates a call registration signal in response to cage call and hall call signals. Each slave station also includes a timer which measures the time interval between transmission of a hall or cage call signal and a call registration signal. When the call registration signal is not received within a predetermined period of time, the respective slave station retransmits the hall or cage call signal. The call registration lamp is extinguished if the slave station has not received the call registration signal after a predetermined number of signal retransmissions.

A controller for registering a hall calling is connected to signal transmitter/receiver units in halls by way of one signal wiring, a first instruction for detecting whether there is a hall calling in zones set at a plurality of sets and contained with predetermined number of hall buttons or not is outputted from the controller, a signal transmitter/receiver outputs, when the first instruction is inputted thereto, zone data indicating the presence or absence of a calling signal in the zone, a second instruction for detecting the floor having the calling signal is outputted, when the zone data is inputted to the controller, from the controller only to the signal transmitter/receiver unit in the zone having the calling, the signal transmitter/receiver unit which receives the second instruction outputs floor data indicating which is the floor having the calling signal, and the controller which receives the data outputs a lamp ON signal of the calling registration lamp to the signal transmitter/receiver unit.

Apparatus and method for transmitting signal for elevator

A signal transmission apparatus for an elevator in a multi-story building comprises a small number of signal lines which carry, in a time-shared fashion, hall call signal and hall call registration information for all floors. On each floor, one or more signal terminal means comprises one or more push buttons for entering hall calls and one or more indicator lamps for indicating that a hall call has been registered. A reference signal originates in a control unit and propagates through a ring counter with stages corresponding to each signal terminal means and each separate direction of travel, ascending or descending, supported therein. A signal indicating that a button on a given signal terminal means has been pushed is transmitted over a hall call signal line in synchronization with the reference signal to the control unit. A hall call reference signal generated by the control unit is transmitted over a register line and is received by a signal terminal means to which it was transmitted in synchronization with the reference signal. Error detection and indication circuitry in each signal terminal means detects error conditions which could casue erroneous hall call signal information to be transmitted over the hall call signal line and provides a visual display to permit quick and easy isolation of which of the several data terminal means in the signal transmission system is causing the erroneous hall call signals.

A cage position display apparatus for an elevator having a machine room controller including a first converter having a memory for converting binary signals representing positions of a cage into display codes corresponding to a particular floor arrangement of a building in which the elevator is installed, a cage position display device including a second converter for converting the display codes into corresponding driving signals and display unit operated on the basis of the driving signals for displaying the position of the cage, and a plurality of signal lines connecting the machine room controller to the cage position display unit to transmit the display codes therebetween. Therefore, display patterns can be readily altered merely by changing the contents of the memory in the machine room controller.

Cage position display apparatus for an elevator

A signal transmission apparatus from a control unit to a plurality of memory units which correspond to signal terminal means and which are connected in series with each other, wherein the memory units at the starting end and at the final end are connected to the control unit to constitute a closed loop, wherein the memory unit at the starting end or the final end receives a gate signal and stores it temporarily to open a gate, and wherein the memory units transfer gate signals to the subsequent stages successively responsive to clock pulses, and having detector means which detects whether the first gate signal has circulated the closed loop constituted by the series connected memory units, and a switch which switches the sending path of the gate signal depending upon the detected result so that the gate signal is sent from the memory unit of either the starting end or the final end.
