An illumination device comprising: an optical guide for receiving light emitted from a light source and guiding the light by repetitive transmission and reflection; a reflective member for reflecting light transmitting in the optical guide to an outside of the optical guide within the optical guide; a supplemental reflective member for reflecting light transmitting the reflective member and light leaked from the optical guide while evading the optical guide to an inside of the optical guide, transmitting the reflective member and light leak.

Illumination device

In a touch panel device comprising a panel main body () including a grid array of transmission electrodes () and reception electrodes () and defining a touch surface (), the transmission electrodes are connected to a transmission unit () for sequentially applying a drive signal to the transmission electrodes. A time constant element is connected to each transmission electrode via the corresponding lead wire to adjust an overall time constant of the transmission electrode, the time constant of each time constant element being selected to be greater as the length of the lead wire for the corresponding transmission electrode increases. Thereby, the induction noises induced in the reception electrodes owing to the drive signal conducted through the lead wires leading to the transmission electrodes can be minimized and homogenized among the different transmission electrodes, and the positional variations in the distribution of the sensitivity of touch position detection owing to the variations in the lengths of the lead wires leading to the transmission electrodes can be minimized.

Touch panel device

An image reader includes a document table () having a platen plate () placed on an upper surface of the document table (); a document table cover () supported at an upper end of the document table () in a pivotable manner; a first image sensor () which is provided in the document table () and is actuated in parallel with the platen plate () by means of a sensor drive mechanism (); a document moving mechanism for causing the document to move along a document transport path () formed in the document table cover (); and a second image sensor () fixed to the document table cover () so as to be situated at a position above the document transport path (). A track of the document, which moves through the document transport path (), passes through a focal point (scan point) of the first image sensor () achieved when the first image sensor () is situated at a standby position.

Image reader

An image reader comprising a reading glass plate facing an optical scanning system and a platen roller provided opposite to the reading glass plate; both being grounded. It is combined with an automatic sheet feeder, which comprises a retardation roller containing torque limiters and corrugation rollers. An optimized combination of these rollers provides an ideal sheet transfer and avoids overlaid sheet transfer. Generation of paper dust and toner particles is minimized in the optimized sheet transfer. Furthermore, sticking of such dust and particles on the reading glass plate and the platen roller is prevented in an image reader of the present invention. Thus the image reader reads out high quality images without being affected by dispersed paper dust or toner particles, while overlaid transfer of mother document sheets is prevented in the sheet feeder.

Sheet separation roller configuration

A rotating shaft coupling has a plurality of rotating-shaft-coupling-members. One of the rotating-shaft-coupling-members is multi-layered by a coupler connecting a shaft thereto, an elastic body and an inertia body which has a mass activating a torsion load in a rotating direction when the elastic body is rotating. A plurality of the rotating-shaft-coupling-members are assembled into the rotating shaft coupling. By this construction, transmission of the vibration from a motor side to a driven side can be effectively suppressed.
