The transfer inkjet printer device includes an intermediate transfer body including an intermediate transfer surface capable of moving along a rotation route; an inkjet head used to discharge ink including toner particles onto the intermediate transfer surface at a first area in the rotation route in a state where the toner particles are charged, so as to form an intermediate image composed of an ink layer on the intermediate transfer surface; a pressure device used to press the ink layer of the intermediate image on the intermediate transfer surface, onto a surface of a recording medium at a second area in the rotation route; and an electric field application device used to electrophorese the charged toner particles in the ink layer of the intermediate image toward the recording medium at the second area.

Transfer inkjet printer device

A wet type developing apparatus is provided which allows printing in a quality that is stable at an increased printing speed and also with changes in physical property of a liquid developer. The wet type developing apparatus to this end includes a liquid developer feed pathway which comprises a developing rollerfor feeding the liquid developer onto a photoconductor drum; an anilox rollerimmersed in part in the liquid developer and driven to rotate in rotational contact with the developing roller; and a doctor bladedisposed in contact with a surface of the anilox roller for controlling the rate of drawing up of the liquid developer. The developing and anilox rollers have their peripheral surfaces moving in an identical direction and at an identical rate of movement in an area of their rotational contact. A toner chargeris disposed opposite to a surface of the anilox roller downstream of an area of contact of the doctor blade with the anilox roller and upstream of an area of rotational contact of the anilox roller with the developing roller in a rotation direction of the anilox roller.

Wet type developing apparatus and wet type developing method

In an electrophotographic sheet-fed front/back printing machine which is capable of duplex printing and which can be installed in a reduced space, sheets of paper fed from a sheet supply are fed out by a sheet transport conveyer onto an impression cylinder of an electrophotographic printing section in which each of the sheets are printed on one side. The sheets printed on one side are turned over from front to back by a sheet turnover transport unit and are allowed to fall and be supplied onto the sheet transport conveyer. The sheets are each fed again onto the impression cylinder and printed on the remaining other side. Sheets printed on both sides are transported by a printed-sheet transport unit to a print output receptacle in which they are received.

Electrophotographic sheet-fed front/back printing machine

An electrophotographic apparatus and method that can effect favorable transfer of a toner image onto a medium under a nip pressure between a transfer roller and a backup roller and a potential difference between the transfer and backup rollers even if the medium has a high insulating property, such as due to its being thick.

Transfer roller cleaning apparatus and electronic photograph printer

A fixing apparatus includes a fixing drum having a heating heater internally equipped therein, the fixing drum positioned spaced part and downstream from a sheet delivery site at a downstream-most side of printing units and is adapted to rotate at a peripheral speed identical to a speed of travel of the sheet of paper. A first sprocket is positioned adjoining the sheet delivery site at the downstream-most side of the printing units, and a second sprocket is positioned coaxially with the fixing drum and being adapted to rotate integrally with the fixing drum. A conveyer chain having a gripper is wound around and engaging with the first and second sprockets to wind and convey a sheet of paper on a peripheral surface of the fixing drum upon gripping in turn with the gripper the sheet of paper traveling from the sheet delivery site at the downstream-most side.

Fixing apparatus for a sheet-fed electrophotographic printer

A sheet-fed duplex and a sheet-fed duplex multi-color printer which is compact, using an electrophotographic printing system. A toner fixing apparatus characterized by provision of a provisional fixing portion provided with a provisional fixing component having an infrared heater irradiating infrared radiation onto a printed surface of the web and a main fixing portion provided downstream in the web flow in the provisional fixing portion and nipping the web with heat rollers performing a main fixing operation or having a plurality of main fixing units. An electrophotographic printer includes a transfer roller cleaning deviceand a carrier liquid supply unitdisposed at a portion of the circumference of a transfer rollerbetween a position of image transfer onto a recording mediumand the transfer roller cleaning device and including a carrier liquid supply rollin rotational contact with a surface of the transfer roller. The transfer roller cleaning device comprises a cleaning rollrotating in rubbing contact with the surface of the transfer roller and having a bias voltage applied thereto which is of a polarity opposite to that of a residual toner; a peripheral surface scraping bladepositioned downstream of the cleaning roll in the rotation direction of the transfer roller; a side surface scraping bladelikewise positioned downward; and a surface scraping bladedisposed at a portion of the circumference of the cleaning roll.

A toner-fixer apparatusused in an electronic photograph printer includes: an apparatus main unit extending along a web fed in the electronic photograph printer; a hot-air-blower section having air ejection ports for blowing hot air onto the web; and an air-exhaust section for suctioning air into air exhaust ports having openings on the apparatus main unit opposed to the web. In this configuration, the toner-fixer apparatus obtains capabilities in terms of fixing toner used in a multi-color image, thermal efficiency, environmental load, and space saving.
