A projector comprises an optical engine which projects an image based on a video signal; a circuit section which controls operation of the optical engine; a power source which supplies electric power to the circuit section; a network interface, through which the circuit section communicates with a remote network terminal device; and a hub which is connected to the network interface and includes a plurality of ports. The network interface communicates with the remote network terminal device through one of the ports of the hub. Further, the power source of the projector supplies electric power to the hub.

A conventional color conversion apparatus was associated with a problem of generation of an achromatic component and reduction in the luminance. A color conversion apparatus according to the present invention generates new color data corresponding to color red of red, green and blue by means of matrix calculation using a first calculation term which is effective for just one of the hues of red, yellow, blue, green, cyan, magenta and yellow, and a second calculation term which is calculated from the first calculation term and which is effective for a predetermined inter-hue region included in at least one of inter-hue zones of red-yellow, yellow-green, green-cyan, cyan-magenta, and magenta-red, so that color conversion can be achieved without generation of an unnecessary achromatic component or reduction in the luminance.

A head arrangement and head offset are set so that the track pattern continuously recorded on a continuously running tape will be ordered in the sequence of recording when taken along the time dimension. In a projector having liquid crystal panels as light modulators, the liquid crystal panels are independently used for white-light modulation and colored-light modulation, respectively, so that high luminance and high resolution are compatibly attained. The projector has a liquid crystal panel which is driven by color signals, and which subjects light to colored-light modulation, and another liquid crystal panel which is driven by a luminance signal wherein a portion lower than a predetermined level is compressed by a compressing circuit, and which subjects light to white-light modulation. Modulated light outputted from the two liquid crystal panels are synthesized with each other in a polarized beam splitter, and the image of the synthesized light is formed on a screen by a lens. It is preferable that the color signal and the white signal which will be inputted to the liquid crystal panels are obtained from a composite video signal of the NTSC system.

A playback color processing circuit for a video tape recorder includes an automatic phase control loop and has two comb filters. A first comb filter. A contains a single 1H delay line for canceling adjacent-track crosstalk in the automatic phase control loop. Further, a second comb filter contains two 1H delay lines for canceling adjacent-track crosstalk in the chrominance output signal. Due to the short H/2 group delay time of the first comb filter, the chrominance output of this circuit possesses excellent phase stability and is free of hue irregularities. Due to the superior spurious output characteristics of the second comb filter, the chrominance output has good vertical resolution and can create a color picture free of vertical color smear.
