A cleaning tool includes a head, a take-up reel, a driven roller, and a passthrough component. The head presses a cleaning element, having a tape shape, onto an optical connector. The take-up reel reels the cleaning element retrieved from the head. The driven roller guides the cleaning element on a convey path from the head to the take-up reel. The pass-through component includes a slit through which the cleaning element is extended, and the pass-through component is located between the driven rollers and the take-up reel.

An optical connector cleaning tool includes: a tool body; and an extension that moves relatively with respect to the tool body. The extension extends out of the tool body and includes a head that presses a cleaning element formed with a tape-like adhesive element onto an optical connector. A relative movement of the extension with respect to the tool body carries the cleaning element to the head, and after carrying the cleaning element to the head, enables the cleaning element to contact the optical connector.

A cleaning tool includes a tool body and an extension part that extends from the tool body and that includes: a head that presses a cleaning element onto a cleaning target on a pressing surface; an inner guide part through which the head is inserted; and an outer guide part through which the inner guide part is inserted. Disclosed is an optical connector cleaning tool including: a tool body; and an extended part that extends from the tool body and that has a head for pressing a cleaning element against an optical connector, the extended part being provided so as to be movable with respect to the tool body. The optical connector is cleaned with the cleaning element by moving the tool body toward the extended part in a state where the cleaning element is pressed against the optical connector with the head. The tool body includes: a take-up reel that, in accordance with the movement of the tool body with respect to the extended part, takes up the cleaning element which has been sent out from the head; and a take-up amount adjustment mechanism that makes constant the take-up amount of the take-up reel per single cleaning operation.
