A disk brake is provided which is free from problems attributed to the obverse-reverse orientation of a cover member as installed. A cylinder portion () slidably accommodating a piston is formed from a plate-shaped cover member () constituting the bottom thereof and a caliper body main part () having an opening () that is closed with the cover member (). The cover member () is joined to the caliper body main part () to close the opening (). A projection () is provided on one side of the cover member () that faces inside the cylinder portion (), and a blind hole () is provided on the other side of the cover member (). When the cover member () has been installed in the normal orientation, the blind hole () remains after the outer surface of the bottom of the caliper body has been subjected to face cutting after the installation of the cover member ().

Disk brake and method of producing the same

There is provided a cylinder apparatus consisting of a cylinder, a piston performing reciprocating motion between a top dead point and a bottom dead point with oscillatory movement in the cylinder, wherein the cylinder has an oscillatory distance between the top dead point and the bottom dead point, which is shorter than the oscillatory distance at the top and bottom dead points.

A disk brake has a flange portion formed on the outer periphery of a portion of a caliper body main body where an opening is formed. The opening is used for insertion of a cutting tool for machining of a cylinder bore. The outer diameter of the flange portion is larger than that of a general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore formed in the caliper body main body. A lid member is secured to the opening by friction stir welding. The flange portion ensures a sufficient welding margin. The overall weight of the disk brake is reduced by minimizing the wall thickness of the general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore.

A scroll fluid machine is capable of readily providing a back-pressure chamber having an increased pressure-receiving area and yet capable of being reduced in size. A fixed scroll member is secured to a casing. An orbiting scroll member is provided at a position facing the fixed scroll member. A holder is provided at the back of the orbiting scroll member, and a coupling member is provided to face the orbiting scroll member across the holder. The coupling member couples together the orbiting scroll member and a driving shaft and performs an orbiting motion together with the orbiting scroll member. A back-pressure plate is provided at the back of the orbiting scroll member, and a back-pressure chamber is formed between the back-pressure plate and the holder.

A scroll type fluid machine having a driving system including a counter weight and a sub weight, in which an efficiency of an assembling operation is enhanced by simplifying an assembling structure of the driving system. In the fluid machine, a sub weight () is provided on a rotary shaft () and a counter weight () is provided on a driving bush () . The driving bush () is attached to the rotary shaft () by an attachment bolt () to prevent relative rotation between the rotary shaft and the driving bush. The rotary shaft () supported by a main bearing () and is driven in rotation by a motor (), with the result that an orbiting scroll () performs an orbiting motion with respect to a fixed scroll ().

Using a chrome plating bath containing organic sulfonic acid, plating is conducted by application of a pulse current to thereby form a crack-free lower chrome layer on a steel substrate. The lower chrome layer has a compressive residual stress of 100 MPa or more and a crystal grain size of from 9 nm to less than 16 nm. Subsequently, by application of a direct current, a cracked upper chrome layer is formed on the lower chrome layer, to thereby obtain a chrome plated part. The lower chrome layer imparts the chrome plated part with heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and the upper chrome layer imparts the chrome plated part with wear resistance and good sliding properties.

A scroll fluid machine having a lubrication pump provided between sliding contact surfaces of an orbiting scroll member and a thrust bearing in a casing. The pump has an orbiting member accommodating recess provided in the sliding contact surface of the thrust bearing. An orbiting member projects from the sliding contact surface of the orbiting scroll member into the recess. A slide plate defines a suction chamber and a discharge chamber in the recess. As the orbiting scroll member orbits, the orbiting member orbits in the recess, causing a lubricant contained in the casing to be sucked from a suction passage and delivered to the inside of a boss portion accommodating an orbiting bearing.

Scroll fluid machine

A tubular member to be shaped comprises a first portion to be shaped and a second portion other than the first portion. A punch having a projection is inserted into the tubular member and the tubular member is pressed between a die having a recess and an anvil within a range where elastic deformation of the second portion occurs, to thereby form the first portion into an outwardly projecting portion. When the first portion is to be formed into an inwardly projecting portion, a die having a recess is inserted into the tubular member and the tubular member is pressed between a punch having a projection and an anvil within a range where elastic deformation of the second portion occurs, to thereby form the first portion into the inwardly projecting portion.
