A consensus building support system includes: a graph generation unit configured to generate a ternary graph based on options regarding ternary values; an acquisition unit configured to acquire at least one of individual opinions about the options or a group opinion which is an aggregation of a plurality of individual opinions; and a display unit configured to display, on the ternary graph, a triangle formed by three line segments indicating the individual opinions or the group opinions regarding each of the ternary values by indicating each of the individual opinions or the group opinions regarding the ternary values with one line segment.

An optimization system has a plurality of nodes, each including: a calculation processing unit that calculates an optimum value of a determination variable representing a parameter that controls the nodes by using the ADMM; and a function value calculation unit that receives an input of a value of the determination variable and calculates the value of the objective function based on a calculation model constructed by a learning processing. An arbitrary value of the determination variable is input to the function value calculation unit, and the calculation processing unit substitutes the value of the objective function calculated by the function value calculation unit and the arbitrary value of the determination variable into a second optimization problem by dual transformation of the first optimization problem, thereby repeatedly executing a processing of calculating a value of the dual variable until the value of the dual variable satisfies a predetermined condition.

Provided is a region extraction system that uses an image data analysis process, which has overcome the problem of false positives in region extraction and assists in more accurate region extraction. A luminance distribution-analyzing unit () is used to determine a parameter of unknown quantity for extracting a region of interest. The luminance distribution-analyzing unit () searches a luminance distribution management database () for a region, which has a luminance distribution similar to the region of interest and is easily extracted, as a similar area. The region of the similar area is extracted using a region extraction pre-processing unit () and the value of the parameter of unknown quantity is determined on the basis of an image feature value calculated from the region extraction results.

A neutron protection thermal insulating material is obtained by adding a boron compound and, if necessary, a hydrous compound, to chrysotile asbestos fibers. To form the material, the asbestos is opened with the use of a surface active agent in the presence of water. The boron compound is added and air bubbles are incorporated into the mixture which is then dried, molded and compressed. The resulting product is characterized by a construction wherein the opened asbestos fibers are oriented in substantially parallel relation to each other and in the direction perpendicular to the compression direction and air pockets are flatly arranged between the fibers and substantially parallel thereto to reduce thermal conduction through the material in the direction parallel to the direction of compression.
