There is provided a head-up display apparatus including: a display device that is provided inside an instrument panel and projects display light, and an optical member that reflects the display light projected from the display device so as to guide the display light to a windshield. At least a part of the optical member is positioned outside the instrument panel.

Heads-up display device

There are provided a first optical member that is transparent and is formed in a thin plate shape; a Fresnel-shaped portion that is formed in a concentric form on one surface of the first optical member in the thickness direction; a half mirror layer that is formed on a surface of a Fresnel-shaped portion; a second optical member that is formed of a transparent filler for filling unevenness of a surface of the half mirror layer to form a flat surface; and a third optical member that has a transparent thin plate shape protecting an outside surface of the second optical member. A refractive index of the first optical member, a refractive index of the second optical member, and a refractive index of the third optical member are equal.

Display light projection optical device

An optical device includes a plate-shaped Fresnel lens portion made of a first optical material, the Fresnel lens portion having a Fresnel-shaped portion on one side of Fresnel lens portion in a thickness direction of the Fresnel lens portion, the Fresnel-shaped portion having a plurality of grooves, and a partially reflective mirror layer provided on a surface of the Fresnel-shaped portion. The plurality of grooves of the Fresnel-shaped portion is configured such that a surface configuration of the Fresnel-shaped portion has optically freeform surface characteristics and such that each of the grooves has a non-uniform depth.

Optical device

A display device for a vehicle according to the present invention includes a display which emits an emission display light having a polarization plane in a specific direction, an illumination light source which illuminates the display, and a phase difference plate which is disposed facing the display in a state where a fast axis is shifted by a predetermined angle with respect to the polarization plane of the emission display light emitted by the display.

Display device for vehicle

A head-up display includes a display device and a combiner that has a rear surface brought into contact with an inner surface of a windshield of a vehicle, and reflects a display light rays emitted from the display device by a front surface of the combiner toward a driver in the vehicle. The front surface forms a first arc-shaped optical surface which receives and reflects the display light rays toward the driver so that the driver sees a first virtual image of the display light rays with a set magnification greater than 1 on the outside of the windshield. The rear surface forms a second arc-shaped optical surface which receives and reflects the display light ray toward the driver so that the driver sees a second virtual image which coincides with the first virtual image in terms of the size and position on an outside of the windshield.

Head-up display

A display system for a vehicle which is able to maintain display quality and to be mounted on a vehicle of various types. A display system for a vehicle has an indicator, a backlight arranged on a back side of the indicator, a light ray controller and a direction adjusting member. The backlight emits a light passing through the indicator. The light ray controller is arranged between the indicator and the backlight, and controls a direction of light going from the backlight to the indicator. The direction adjusting member holds the light ray controller, and adjusts a direction of a light ray passed through the indicator.

Display system for vehicle

A windshield having a windshield body and a specific area, which is arranged at a part in a longitudinal direction of the windshield body and is formed into a curved surface having a curvature different from the curvature of the windshield body, is provided. The specific area is formed into a round shape in a plan view. The specific area has a projection area, on which a display light of an image displayed on a display device mounted in a vehicle is projected and the projection area is formed into a curved surface for displaying the projected image in a desired shape and is arranged outside of a surface of the windshield body, and a connection area, which is arranged around the projection area and is formed into a curved surface for continuing to the projection area and the windshield body. By using the windshield, the projection area can be formed into the windshield without an extra deformation.

Windshield and head-up display system

An LCD provided with an edge light type back light unit which is arranged in a manner that the light emitted from a CCT in the form of a linear light source is condensed at the end portion of a light conduction plate, then the light reflected by a reflecting sheet and then ejected from the light conduction plate transmits through a light diffusion plate thereby to indirectly irradiate on a liquid crystal panel from the rear direction thereof in the form of planar light with uniform luminance. A light reflecting plate having a curved surface is disposed in the vicinity of the CCT. A light shielding plate is disposed in a manner that a part of the light emitted from the CCT and reflected by the light reflecting plate is condensed at the end portion of the light conduction plate. Another part of the light emitted from the CCT and reflected by the light reflecting plate is directed upward and directly irradiates a part of the display area of the liquid crystal panel thereby to form a high luminance irradiation portion. Accordingly, thus configured LCD is improved in its visibility and so can be formed as a vehicle-mounted alarm display device for displaying various alarms.

Liquid crystal display device

A sleeve for an optical connector and a method of manufacturing the sleeve is provided. The sleeve is put between an optical fiber and a transmitting module or between an optical fiber and a receiving module so as to optically connect the optical fiber and the transmitting or receiving module. The sleeve integrally has a light-leading path in a flat-headed conic shape, a peripheral projecting portion , an outer tube portion . A small-diameter end face of the light-leading path of the sleeve faces the transmitting device or the receiving device . The peripheral projecting portion projects from a peripheral surface of the other end portion , on a side of a larger diameter, of the light-leading path . The outer tube portion is cylindrically formed and extends from a peripheral portion of the peripheral projecting portion . The outer tube portion extends over an entire length of the light-leading path along an optical axis P.

Sleeve and a manufacturing method thereof

A sleeve ( ) includes a core ( ) of transparent synthetic resin and a cladding ( ), also of transparent synthetic resin, having a smaller refractive index than the core. The core includes an optical waveguide ( ) extending in an optical axial direction to taper in a conical shape and a lens ( ) formed at the large diameter end of the waveguide. The lens receives light and converges it. There is a circular flange-like guide integral to the outer wall in the vicinity of the lens. The cladding ( ) is formed concentrically with the core in intimate contact with the outer wall of the core. The configuration improves the transmission efficiency of light and contributes to cost reduction of the sleeve.

Sleeve for optical connector and receptacle

In an optical connector, a sleeve is located between an optical fiber 6 and a light receiving/transmitting module 4 and makes an optical connection therebetween. The sleeve has a light guiding passage which is tapered from the optical fiber toward the light receiving/transmitting module, thereby forming a conical shape with its sloped side wall. The end face having a reduced diameter of the light-guiding passage 26 thus formed is arranged oppositely to the light receiving/transmitting module.

Optical connector

A receptacle that is useful from the viewpoint of superior workability, low loss of light and low cost is provided as well as a process for producing the recepacle. An optical connector that is inexpensive and contributes to better optical communication is also provided. The receptacle has an optical element module containing lead frame having an optical element and a connector housing having a room for accommodating and placing the lead frame, into which an optical plug having ferrule-mounted optical fibers at the end thereof is plugged. The connector housing contains a socket cavity for receiving the optical plug and a cylinder being in communication with the socket cavity and the room. The optical element module contains a clad formed in the cylinder, a core forming an optical waveguide in combination with the clad, and a molded portion united with the core. The core and the molded portion are made of a light-transmitting transparent resin that is filled into the inside of the clad and the room.

Receptacle, process for producing the same and optical connector containing the same

The receptacle includes a lead pin having an optical element, a molded body made of a transparent resin material allowing optical propagation, and an optical element module sub-assembly having a core unitarily molded with the molded body by utilizing a transparent resin material. The receptacle comprises a connector housing unitarily molded with the optical element module sub-assembly by using a transparent material having a refractive index smaller than that of the core. Another receptacle includes an element module sub-assembly which has a lead pin with an optical element and a molded body. The molded body has a recess for positioning a leading end of a ferrule closely to the optical element. The another receptacle also comprises a connector housing having an insertion through hole and an engagement chamber for an optical plug. The optical element module sub-assembly is unitarily assembled with the connector housing.

Receptacle, manufacturing method for the same, and optical connector having the receptacle

A display antenna center in which a display device is arranged in a lower portion of a windshield in the front portion of a vehicle and displays data of the vehicle. Further, a mirror is arranged in an upper portion of the display device and makes the vehicle data, which is displayed on the display device, to be recognized by a driver in the form of a virtual image. Furthermore, various antennas are arranged between the back of the mirror and the windshield corresponding to various types of information transmitting devices, and information sent from the corresponding information transmitting device is received by each of the antennas.
