A tool holder () comprising: an outside section () connected and fixed to a main shaft housing; a rotation input section () that is gripped by the main shaft and caused to rotate at a first rotation speed r; a rotation output section () that has the rotational force from the rotation input section () transmitted thereto and rotates at a second rotation speed rthat is different from the first rotation speed r; a slider () that is moved in a first direction that intersects the rotational axis (Os) of the main shaft, as a result of the force from the rotation output section (); a cutting edge () that is moved in the first direction by the slider () and is rotated by the rotation input section (); and a detection mechanism () for detecting that the cutting edge () is at the origin position.

Tool holder and machining method

The tap tool () has an axis of rotation (Cr) and machines a pilot hole (') so that the same becomes a screw hole () in a state where the axis of rotation has been matched to a central axis (C) of the pilot hole which is provided to a workpiece, wherein the tap tool () is characterized by being provided with: a thread section () having a blade section () for machining a thread groove of the screw hole; pad sections () located behind in a direction of rotation of the blade section, and engaging with the thread groove machined by the blade section during the machining of the thread groove; and a non-engagement section () for forming a space () between said section and the screw hole in a cross-sectional view where the axis of rotation and the central axis of the screw hole have been matched. The space has a size that enables simultaneous release of the engagement between the thread section and the thread groove and the engagement of the pad sections and the thread groove, in a case where the tap tool has shifted in a direction orthogonal to the axis of rotation within the screw hole, such shift being from the state where the axis of rotation and the central axis of the screw hole have been matched.

A milling cutter () comprising: a cartridge () that has a tip () fixed thereto; a body () that has a pocket () formed therein into which the cartridge () is inserted; and a fixing tool () that fixes the cartridge (), wherein the body () has a fixing tool insertion hole () that is adjacent to the pocket () on the radial direction inner side thereof, and a partitioning wall () between the pocket () and the fixing tool insertion hole (), the fixing tool () that has been inserted into the fixing tool insertion hole () exerts a radial direction outward force on the partitioning wall (), the pocket () is formed so as to produce a counterforce that resists the radial direction outward force acting on the cartridge () via the partitioning wall (), and the cartridge () is fixed in the pocket () on the basis of the radial direction outward force.

Milling cutter

A machine tool for machining a workpiece includes a control device for moving a rotating tool relative to the workpiece. The device includes an input information-reading unit and a path-setting unit. The input information-reading unit reads input information, which relates to a path along the contour of the workpiece or the tool path of a first rotating tool that follows the external form of the workpiece. The path-setting unit converts the input information read by the input information-reading unit to generate a tool path for performing the machining using the end cutting edge of a second rotating tool.

A hole drilling method includes a rotating step of attaching a workpiece to a rotary table to make the workpiece rotate in an opposite direction to the rotating direction of the rotary tool and a drilling step of making the rotary tool and the workpiece move relative to each other in a direction in which they approach each other so as to drill a hole. The hole drilling step comprises making a position of the rotary tool track the rotation of the workpiece while drilling the hole so that the rotary tool is arranged at a position for drilling a hole in the workpiece.
