A medical device for grinding substance inside a body lumen includes a rotatable tubular drive shaft, a treatment member connected to the drive shaft, and a tubular member possessing an axially extending lumen that extends throughout the tubular member. The tubular member is mounted on the treatment member and surrounds a portion of the treatment member so that the treatment member is rotatable relative to the tubular member. The treatment member includes a shearing portion, and the tubular member includes a protrusion that projects toward the lumen of the tubular member. The protrusion is located axially in front of the shearing portion and interacts with the shearing portion during relative rotation between the treatment member and the tubular member to shear debris resulting from the grinding of the substance.

Medical device and method

A medical device and can remove an object inside a biological lumen while allowing a positional change of the device inside the biological lumen. The medical device includes a drive shaft, an outer tube accommodating the drive shaft, a cutting portion fixed to a distal portion of the drive shaft, and a hub unit housing proximal portions of the drive shaft and the outer tube. The hub unit has an operation unit fixed to the outer surface of the outer tube to rotate the outer tube, a first support portion rotatably supporting the operation unit, a first housing having an aspiration port for discharging fluid to outside, and causing communication of an aspiration lumen of the outer tube with the aspiration port, and a first seal between the first housing and the outer tube. The first support portion and the first seal are disposed in parallel along an axial direction.

Medical device and treatment method

A medical device is disclosed for cutting substances inside a body lumen. The medical device includes: a drive shaft that is rotatable; at least one strut that is rotatably connected to a distal side of the drive shaft, the at least one strut extending along a rotation axis, and wherein a central portion of the at least one strut is bent so as to be expandable radially outwardly; and a support portion that is rotatably connected to the distal side of the drive shaft, and wherein the support portion is formed in a mesh shape and a tubular shape while including multiple gaps, at least a portion of which is positioned on a radially inside of the at least one strut, and which is expandable radially outwardly by a central portion in a direction extending along the rotation axis being bent.

Medical device for cutting substances inside a body lumen

A method is disclosed comprising: introducing a treatment member into a living body and positioning the treatment member adjacent substance in the living body to be ground; moving the treatment member in at least a clockwise direction or a counterclockwise direction about a central axis, which is different from an axis of rotation of the treatment member while the treatment member is positioned adjacent the substance to be ground in the living body to grind the substance; and shearing debris resulting from the grinding of the substance to reduce a size of the debris.

Device handle for a medical device

A treatment method and medical device are disclosed for cutting a substance inside a body lumen. The medical device for cutting substances inside a body lumen including a rotatable tubular drive shaft; an expanding part connected to a distal side of the drive shaft; a cutting part covering the expanding part; and an elongated tube extending through the drive shaft and connected to the expanding part, wherein a distal end of the expanding part is placed distal to a distal end of the cutting part.

A method is disclosed for collecting substances inside a living body lumen using a medical device having an elongated shaft, a filter portion, and a support portion. The method includes inserting the medical device into the living body lumen; inserting an atherectomy device through the elongated shaft of the medical device; scraping a substance with the atherectomy device; collecting the substance using the filter portion of the medical device; and aspirating the substance by an aspiration catheter while the aspiration catheter is moved forward and rearward relative to the filter portion inside the filter portion.

A hemostatic device includes a band for wrapping around a puncture site of a wrist, a mechanism for securing the band to the wrist in a wrapped state, an inflatable portion connected to the band and inflated by being injected with air, a tube body that communicates between an inflatable space of the inflatable portion and an outside, and a cover portion that covers the tube body in the inflatable portion, in which the tube body has a hole portion that opens in the inflatable portion, the cover portion has a communication portion that is disposed to cover the hole portion and allows communication between the hole portion and the inflatable portion by being positioned to overlap the hole portion, and the tube body is movable relative to the cover portion so that a positional relation between the communication portion and the hole portion is controllable.

Hemostatic device

A treatment method and medical device are disclosed for cutting a substance inside a body lumen. The medical device includes a drive shaft that is rotatable; a strut that is rotatably connected to a distal side of the drive shaft, that extends along a rotation axis, and whose central portion is expandable radially outward; and a support portion that is rotatably connected to the distal side of the drive shaft, that is formed in a mesh shape and a tubular shape while including multiple gaps, at least a portion of which is positioned on a radially inner side of the strut, and that is expandable radially outward by a central portion in a direction extending along the rotation axis being bent.

A hemostatic device includes a band for wrapping around a puncture site of a wrist, a mechanism for securing the band to the wrist in a wrapped state, an inflatable portion connected to the band and inflated by being injected with gas, an injection part which is elastically transformable and is capable of injecting air into the inflatable portion, and a tube body that connects an inflatable space of the inflatable portion and a housing space of the injection part to each other, in which the tube body has a hole portion opening in the inflatable portion and a cover portion disposed on the tube body to cover the hole portion, and the cover portion has a communication portion that allows communication between the inflatable space and the housing space by air discharged from the hole portion when air is injected into the inflatable portion from the injection part.

A hemostatic device including a band that is wrapped around a limb of a living body at a site of the living body where bleeding is to be stopped and an inflatable portion which is inflated by injection of gas to cause the inflatable portion to press the site where bleeding is to be stopped. The hemostatic device includes an injection part that injects gas into the interior of the inflatable portion. The injection part includes a hole penetrating the injection part and communicating the housing space with outside environment. The hemostatic device includes a first support plate and a second support plate positioned adjacent one another along the longitudinal direction of the band. The second support plate is movably connected to the first support plate. The inflatable portion is on the first support plate and the injection part is on the second support plate.

A treatment method and medical device are disclosed for cutting a substance inside a body lumen. The medical device for cutting substances inside a body lumen, the medical device including a rotatable tubular drive shaft; a treatment member connected to a distal side of the drive shaft; an elongated tube extending through the drive shaft; and a bearing member connecting a distal side of the treatment member and the elongated tube.

A medical device for removing a stenosis of a living body lumen includes a drive shaft configured to be driven by an operation at a proximal side thereof and including a treatment member disposed at a distal side thereof, a housing configured to accommodate the proximal side of the drive shaft therein, and a holding member configured to suppress unnecessary movement of the drive shaft. A proximal end of the holding member is fixed to the housing, and an inner surface of the holding member and an outer surface of the drive shaft are slidable relative to one another.

A medical device and a treatment method are disclosed for cutting substances inside a body lumen. The medical device includes a rotatable tubular drive shaft; an elongated tube extended through the drive shaft; a bearing placed at the proximal end of elongated tube; and a rotation transmitting member fixed on an outer surface of the elongated tube, wherein the rotation transmitting member is movable between a proximal end of the drive shaft and the bearing.

A device handle is disclosed for grinding substances inside a body lumen, the device handle comprising: a high-speed drive source configured to rotate a treatment member connected to a distal end of a drive shaft; and a low-speed drive source connected to a revolution shaft, and wherein the revolution shaft is configured to cause the treatment member to move about a central axis of the revolution shaft, and wherein the central axis of a proximal portion of the revolution shaft is different from a central axis of the treatment member.

A hemostasis tool has a flexible bandage body that is used by being wound around a puncture site, a balloon that is arranged in the bandage body, and that is dilated by injecting a fluid so as to compress the puncture site in a dilated state, and a detection unit that detects a strength level of a pressing force of the balloon pressing the puncture site, based on discoloration or deformation. In this manner, it is possible to detect the pressing force of the balloon pressing the puncture site. Accordingly, the balloon can properly compress the puncture site.
