An inspection device is a device that inspects the appearance of a target, including: an imaging device configured to image the target from a first direction; an illuminating unit configured to apply light to the target; and a controller configured to acquire a first inspection image by causing the imaging device to image the target to which light is applied from a first position, to acquire a second inspection image by causing the imaging device to image the target to which light is applied from a second position, and to inspect an appearance of the target based on the first inspection image, the second inspection image, and a reference image. The first position and the second position overlap each other when viewed from the first direction.

An apparatus for the reclamation of molding sand by which the quality of the reclaimed molding sand is enhanced. The apparatus for reclamation of molding sand includes a part for feeding the molding sand, which part has a sand falling port at its bottom, a rotary drumdisposed below the part for feeding the molding sandand being rotatable horizontally, a motor driving meansfor rotating the rotary drumby an electric motor, a rollerdisposed in the rotary drumand spaced apart therefrom, and a cylinderconnected to the rollerthat presses the rollertoward the rotary drum. It further includes a flow detector for the sand A disposed at the sand falling port of the part for feeding the molding sand and for detecting the flow of the sand fed into the rotary drum; a current detector B for detecting the current of the motor driving means; a pressure controller C for controlling the pressure of the cylinder; and a controller D for controlling the force of the cylinderthat is pressing the rollerbased on the flow of the sand detected by the flow detector for the sand A.

Apparatus for reclamation of molding sand

A mold that can prevent molten metal from leaking out of it as well as from leaking onto a parting plane of the mold. The mold includes a lower mold having a concave portion that has the shape of a product, into which the amount of molten metal required to produce a casting is poured and an upper mold comprising a convex portion that has the shape of the casting, and forming a cavity that molds the casting, when the upper mold overlaps the lower mold. A structure is formed so as to have certain clearances between the lower mold and the upper mold such that molten metal is prevented from leaking onto the parting plane that is formed where the upper mold and the lower mold overlap, when the casting is produced.

Measuring the degree of restoration during the restoring treatment of the used molding sand and comparing the measured degree of restoration to a permissible degree, comprising the following steps: First, the restored sand is photographed to project it as a picture on a monitor. A picture-processing device divides that picture into a certain number of picture parts and the brightness of each picture part is compared to the standard brightness, which is chosen beforehand. The degree of restoration is judged based on the number of picture parts that are lighter or darker than the standard brightness. The restoring treatment is stopped when the result of the comparison shows that the restoration has reached the permissible degree, but is continued when the result does not reach it. The operation of measuring the degree of restoration during the treatment is also repeated until it reaches the permissible degree. Then the treatment is stopped.
