A sensor for use in detecting cardiopulmonary functions employs a skin-heating conductive surface for use in achieving vasodilitation for the measurement of PO.sub.2 and PCO.sub.2. The same surface is employed as an electrode for a heartbeat and/or respiration rate measuring device.

Sensing device for cardio-pulmonary functions

A leakage current detector includes conductive inner and outer housing structures separated by an insulator, with the circuit or equipment under observation being disposed within the inner housing. A current detecting circuit connects the two housings and measures the current therebetween.

A transcutaneous gas measuring assembly is described in which a glass electrode is formed by a body of highly insulating material and a bottom by a glass membrane. The membrane is provided with a conductive layer on the inner surface thereof and a preamplifier is disposed within the glass electrode and electrically connected to the conductive layer. A reference electrode is disposed around the glass electrode. All of the above form a measuring portion of the gas measuring assembly.

A PH electrode is provided with an ISFET for generating a potential difference according to the PH value of an electrolyte to be measured, and includes a cell for driving the ISFET, so that the PH electrode can be used, as it is, with a conventional, potential difference type PH meter.

The grounding of an electrical apparatus is monitored by a primary circuit which is inductively coupled to a coil connected in series between the grounding line of the power cord and a grounding terminal on the electrical apparatus to which a second grounding line is connected.
