A bill processing device includes: a loading unit that feeds a bill having a pair of serial number information; a reading unit that reads the pair of serial number information from the fed bill; a determining unit that determines whether at least a portion of the pair of serial numbers match each other; a stacking unit that stacks the bill in a case where the determining unit has determined that the at least a portion of the pair of serial numbers match each other; and a reject unit that receives the bill in a case where the determining unit has determined that the at least a portion of the pair of serial numbers do not match each other.

A bill handling machine includes a take-out roller whose entire circumferential surface is formed with a high friction material and which is adapted to engage with leading edge portions of stacked bills and can take out the bills, a separation roller for cooperating with the take-out roller and preventing two or more bills from being simultaneously taken out, a bill sensor provided downstream of the take-out roller and the separation roller for detecting whether or not any bill is present, transporting rollers provided downstream of the bill sensor and rotated at higher speed than the take-out roller, and a controller for temporarily stopping the take-out roller when detection signals have been continuously input from the bill sensor for a time period longer than a predetermined time period. According to the thus constituted bill handling machine, it is possible to reliably and efficiently separate and handle bills whose lengths in the bill transporting direction differ greatly.

A bill handling machine includes a rotatable drum provided with a bill transport arrangement in which a bill transporting passage is formed therein and movable between a transport position where it can hold bills in the bill transporting passage so as to be able to transport them and a release position where it releases the holding of the bills and a shutter which can open and close one end portion of the bill transporting passage, and a vibrating mechanism for applying slight vibration to the drum, while the one end portion of the bill transporting passage is closed by the shutter, the bill transporting passage is oriented vertically so that the shutter is directed downwardly as a result of the rotation of the drum and the bill transport arrangement has been moved to the release position. According to the thus constituted bill handling machine, it is possible to reliably align one end portions of bills whose sizes differ greatly and efficiently handle bills.

A paper currency (hereinafter 'bill') receiving and dispensing machine includes a bill receiving opening in which the bills are deposited, temporary storing boxes for the bills each of which is adapted to temporarily store plural denominations of bills which are deposited in the bill receiving opening and to discharge the stored bills therefrom, and a plurality of bill storing boxes adapted to store the bills discharged from the temporary storing boxes, and to discharge the stored bills therefrom. The bill storing boxes are provided in respective denominations. The machine further includes a first transport passage for communicating the bill receiving opening with the temporary storing boxes such that the bills are moved between the bill receiving opening and the temporary storing boxes, and a second transport passage for communicating the temporary storing boxes with the bill storing boxes such that the bills are moved between the temporary storing boxes and the bill storing boxes. The second transport passage is independently disposed from the first transport passage.

Paper currency receiving and dispensing machine

A bill handling machine includes a bill placement base on which bills to be handled are placed, a bill transaction section through which the bills are received and fed out and a drum provided adjacent to the bill placement base, the drum including a pair of endless drive belts and a pair of movable endless driven belts which are disposed so as to face the endless drive belts and are adapted to hold the bills between the endless drive belts and themselves, a bill transportation passage being formed in the drum by the endless drive belts and the endless driven belts, the length of the bill transport passage being determined to be slightly greater than a length of a bill in a transporting direction whose length in the transporting direction is greatest among the bills to be handled, the bill handling machine further including a shutter which can project into and be retracted from the bill transportation passage, a length between an end portion of the bill placement base on a side opposite from the drum and the shutter being determined to be slightly greater than the length of the bill in a transporting direction whose length in the transporting direction is greatest among the bills to be handled and-a length between an end portion of the bill placement base on a side of the drum and a portion into which the shutter projects being determined to be shorter than a length of the bill in the transporting direction whose length in the bill transporting direction is shortest among the bills to be handled. According to the thus constituted bill handling machine, it is possible to reliably and readily receive, dispense or return bills whose lengths in the bill transporting direction differ greatly.

A bill handling machine is provided with a bill stacking device including a bill press member whose leading end portion is swingably supported and which is adapted to guide bills downwardly, a solenoid for pressing the leading end portion of the bill press member downwardly, a sensor for detecting rear end portions of bills to be stacked, and a controller for actuating, based on a detection signal, the solenoid when a predetermined time period has passed after the sensor detected the rear end portion of the bill. According to the thus constituted bill handling machine, it is possible to stack bills whose lengths in the bill transport direction differ greatly so that one end portions thereof are aligned.

A bill handling machine is provided with a bill hold and transport arrangement which can hold bills therebetween and transport them downwardly and a bill receiving device for receiving the bills, the bill receiving device including endless drive belts fixed and extending vertically, endless driven belts movable relative to the endless drive belts and extending vertically so as to hold the bills fed from the bill hold and transport arrangement between themselves and the endless drive belts, a bill press member supported integrally with the endless driven belts, movable between a projected position where it is closer to the endless drive belts than surfaces of the endless driven belts on a side of the endless drive belts and a retracted position where it is more apart from the endless drive belts than the surfaces of the endless driven belts on a side of the endless drive belts and biased toward the endless drive belts, and a plate member located below the endless drive belts and the endless driven belts, the bill handling machine further including a controller for conducting control so as to locate the bill press member at the retracted position, holding the bills fed from the bill hold and transport arrangement between the endless driven belts and the endless drive belts by moving the endless driven belts toward the endless drive belts, lower the bills until the bills are no longer held by the bill hold and transport arrangement, then hold the bills between the bill press member and the endless drive belts by moving the bill press member to the projected position, release the bills by moving the endless driven belts apart from the endless drive belts, and release the bills held between the bill press plate and the endless drive belt means to drop them onto the plate member. According to the thus constituted bill handling machine, it is possible to reliably separate one by one bills whose lengths in the bill transport direction differ greatly so that they can be handled.

A bill receiving and feeding-out apparatus for a bill receiving and dispensing machine including a bill accommodating box for accommodating bills, a bill reversing mechanism which includes a bill reversing passage for reversing and feeding bills into the bill accommodating box, a bill non-reversing passage for feeding bills into the bill accommodating box without reversing them, a bill feeding-out passage for feeding out bills from the bill accommodating box to a transporting passage, and a bill receiving and feeding-out mechanism which includes a bill accommodating passage connected to the downstream end of the bill reversing passage and to the upper portion of the bill accommodating box at the downstream end thereof, a bill receiving and feeding-out opening facing the downstream end of the bill non-reversing passage and the upstream end of the bill feeding-out passage and a bill accommodating and feeding-out passage connected to the bill receiving and feeding-out opening at one end and to the upper portion of the bill accommodating box at the other end, the bill reversing mechanism being disposed above the bill receiving and feeding-out mechanism, the bill receiving and feeding-out apparatus further including an adjusting members for enlarging or narrowing the bill receiving and feeding-out opening.

A bill processing apparatus capable of receiving and/or dispensing bills, the bill processing apparatus including a drum disposed in the vicinity of a bill transaction opening capable of communicating between the outside and inside of the bill processing apparatus and secured to a center shaft rotatably mounted on the bill processing apparatus, the drum having a bill accumulating portion which has an opening at one side thereof and can receive the bills via said opening and accumulate them therein, a bill feed-in passage for feeding the bills from the bill accumulating portion into the inside of the bill processing apparatus, a bill feed-out passage for feeding the bills from the inside of the bill processing apparatus to the bill accumulating portion, a drum rotating devices for rotating the drum so that the opening of the bill accumulating portion can selectively communicate with the bill transaction opening, the bill feed-in passage or the bill feed-out passage, and bill transporting rollers provided for the bill accumulating portion and capable of feeding the bills into the bill accumulating portion and feeding out the bills from the bill accumulating portion. The thus constituted bill processing apparatus can be made small in size.

A circulation-type bill receiving and dispensing machine has a receiving mode, a dispensing mode and a distributing mode. Two sets of dealing part mechanisms are provided for permitting two tellers to simultaneously use the machine. Each dealing part mechanism is in communication with a commonly used received bill handling route for received mode and a commonly used dispensing bill handling route for dispensing mode. The received bill handling route is in communication with boxes for accumulating bills therein and sending the bills therefrom. The boxes are in communication with the dispensing bill handling route.

Circulation-type bill receiving and dispensing machine

The circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine includes a receiving and dispensing box. The receiving and dispensing box is adapted to be removably loaded into the machine. The box receives undamaged bills in the front portion thereof to allow the undamaged bills to be dispensed therefrom and also receives damaged bills in the rear portion thereof.

A circulating-type bill depositing and disbursing machine has a depositing and disbursing box. The box is adapted for storage of undamaged and damaged bills. First and second storing parts are provided for temporarily storing received bills and for transferring the receive bills to the depositing and disbursing box. The first and second storing parts are provided with a storing front plate and a holding plate for clamping the received bills therebetween. The first and second storing parts are further provided with an operable bottom plate for transferring the bills into the depositing and disbursing box.

A device for carrying bank notes stacked in each of the container boxes to be inserted in an automatic money depositing and disbursing machine. The device carries the bank note stack while controlling the upper surface thereof at a pre-set level to render the related money stacking or dispensing means to gain access to the bank notes, when the device is inserted in position in the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine. On the other hand, when each box is removed from the machine, stacked bank notes are securely held in the box while being compressed by the pressing plate. The device provided by the invention comprises a box for containing therein bank notes and having an upper opening through which bank notes are stacked and dispensed, a pressing plate for carrying thereon the bank notes contained in the box to move them in the upward and downward directions and mounted in the box, a link shaft mounted to the box to be moved inboard or outboard relative to the longitudinal axis of the box and operatively connected to the pressing plate to move the same in said upward and downward directions, and means for locking the link shaft to prevent it from moving when the link shaft is moved inward of the box.

Device for carrying bank notes stacked in container box adapted for use

An automatic money depositing and disbursing machine has functions of receiving bank notes from a transacting port and feeding the same through a discriminating section provided in a note circulating delivery passage and accommodating in boxes normal notes judges by the discriminating section, and of disbursing the notes through the discriminating section from the transacting port. The machine is of such a construction that at least portions of the received notes are used as notes to be defrayed or disbursed. The boxes are adapted to be removably supported on the stacker supporting device. The stacker supporting device comprises a rail portion attached to the bottom of the machine and a movable portion adapted to accommodate the boxes therein and slidably supported on the rail portion in horizontal opposite directions.
