A computer-implemented method for repairing corrupted data segments in deduplicated data systems may include (1) identifying a corrupted data segment within a deduplicated data system, (2) locating backed up versions of a first file and backed up versions of a second file, (3) analyzing a first pattern with which the backed up versions of the first file reference the corrupted data segment and a second pattern with which the backed up versions of the second file reference the corrupted data segment, (4) determining that a first location within an instance of the first file is more likely to include a non-corrupt instance of the corrupted data segment than is a second location within an instance of the second file, (6) retrieving the non-corrupt instance of the corrupted data segment from the first location, and (7) repairing the corrupted data segment. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for repairing corrupted data segments in deduplicated data systems

The disclosed computer-implemented method for storing data may include (i) identifying a request to backup a set of data according to a storage-as-a-service configuration that stores data into cloud storage, (ii) dividing the set of data to be backed up into chunks of data, (iii) dividing, for each of the chunks of data, a respective chunk into blocks of data, (iv) generating, for each of the chunks of data, at least one block of parity bits for the respective chunk of data based on applying an erasure code to the blocks of data, and (v) splitting, during backing up the chunks of data according to the storage-as-a-service configuration, the respective blocks of data and the generated block of parity bits into heterogeneous storage media targets such that the storage-as-a-service configuration benefits from the heterogeneous storage media targets. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for storing data

The disclosed computer-implemented method for repairing corrupted data segments may include (1) detecting a corrupted data segment in a backup stored in a data storage system, (2) identifying at least one additional backup stored in the data storage system that exceeds a predetermined threshold for probability of comprising an uncorrupted version of the corrupted data segment, (3) matching at least a portion of a data segment in the additional backup with at least a portion of a data segment adjacent to the corrupted data segment in the backup, (4) locating, at least in part by examining data adjacent to the matched data segment in the additional backup, the uncorrupted version of the corrupted data segment, and (5) repairing the corrupted data segment in the backup by using the uncorrupted version of the corrupted data segment located in the additional backup. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
