A display device includes a display panel, a sensor controller, and a driving controller. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels, each of which includes a light emitter to emit light to display an image and a plurality of sensors. Each of the sensors includes a light detector to detect user information. The sensor controller is electrically connected with the sensors and is configured to provide a reset control signal to the plurality of sensors. The driving controller determines a first time point initiating when a user is able to attempt to input the user information, determines a second time point when the user information is actually input, and provides the sensor controller with an enable signal to activate the reset control signal after the first time point and deactivate the reset control signal after the second time point.

Display device and method for driving the same

A display device includes a display panel, an optical layer disposed on the display panel, a window disposed on the optical layer, and a light control layer. The light control layer is disposed between the display panel and the optical layer or between the optical layer and the window. The light control layer includes a plurality of transmission portions spaced apart from each other and a light blocking portion filled between the transmission portions. A thickness of each of the transmission portions and a width of each of the transmission portions in a cross-section are determined by a function of a refractive index of the transmission portions, and an exit angle of light emitted from the display panel and propagating through the light control layer.

An electro-wetting display device includes a polar fluid layer, a pixel electrode, a non-polar black fluid layer, a driving electrode, and a color fluid layer. The non-polar black fluid is deformed by a voltage difference between a voltage applied to the pixel electrode and a voltage applied to the polar fluid layer. the non-polar color fluid is deformed by a voltage difference between a voltage applied to the driving electrode and a voltage applied to the polar fluid layer. The driving electrode receives a voltage having a voltage level varied according to a display mode.

Electro-wetting display device

A method of fabricating a monolithic integrated semiconductor photonic device is provided. In this method, it is possible to remarkably reduce an optical loss in a passive waveguide by forming a non-doped clad layer around a passive layer. Thus, the passive waveguide can be effectively coupled with an active waveguide. Further, a current confinement layer is formed around an active layer, using the non-doped clad layer. Therefore, an expensive tool such as an ion implanter is not required, thereby decreasing manufacturing costs.
