A robot includes a microphone configured to receive sound signals, and one or more controllers configured to determine a reference sound pressure level of background noise based on a sound signal received at a first time point via the microphone, detect occurrence of a sound event based on the reference sound pressure level and a sound pressure level of a sound signal received at a second time point via the microphone, recognize an event corresponding to the detected sound event, and control an operation of the robot based on the recognized event.

Robot

A robot capable of conversation with another robot and a method of controlling the same are disclosed. The robot includes a main body having a first region corresponding to a human face and rotatable in left-right direction directions, a signal generator generating a first data signal to be transmitted to a listener robot and a first robot voice signal corresponding to the first data signal, a communication unit transmitting the first data signal to an external server, a speaker outputting the first robot voice signal, and a controller controlling a rotation direction of the main body such that the first region is directed toward the listener robot at a time point adjacent to a transmission time of the first data signal and controlling the speaker to output the first robot voice signal after the rotation direction of the robot is controlled, wherein the listener robot receives the first data signal transmitted from the external server and is controlled to operate based on the first data signal.

Robot capable of conversation with another robot and method of controlling the same

A robot includes a sensing unit including at least one sensor for detecting a user, a face detector configured to acquire an image including a face of the user detected by the sensing unit, a controller configured to detect an interaction intention of the user from the acquired image, and an output unit including at least one of a speaker or a display for outputting at least one of sound or a screen for inducing interaction of the user, when the interaction intention is detected.

Robot and method of controlling thereof

Disclosed herein are a method for extracting voice signals of a plurality of users, and a terminal device and a robot implementing the same. The robot includes a plurality of microphones respectively corresponding to a plurality of users, a memory and a processor, where the processor extracts a plurality of voice signals output by each of the plurality of users using a plurality of sound signals received by each of the plurality of microphones, and in this case, the processor reverses a phase of at least one of other sound signals received respectively by at least one of other microphones except an i-th microphone, and extracts an i-th voice signal output by an i-th user corresponding to the i-th microphone based on a i-th sound signal received by the i-th microphone and based on at least one of other sound signals, the phase of which is reversed.
