A display device includes a display panel, a power voltage generator, and a driving controller. The display panel displays a plurality of frame images based on input image data. The power voltage generator provides a power voltage to the display panel. The driving controller generates a load reference value based on a voltage level of the power voltage and a scale factor for adjusting grayscales of the plurality of frame images, generates at least one of a first signal or a second signal for controlling a power current by comparing the load reference value with a plurality of line loads associated with a plurality of line images, and performs at least one of a first operation for reducing the scale factor based on the first signal or a second operation for reducing the voltage level of the power voltage based on the second signal.

A display device includes a display panel including pixels, and a panel driver configured to sequentially apply data voltages to the pixels on a row basis in an active period of a frame period, and to perform a sensing operation on at least one pixel of the pixels in a blank period of the frame period. Within the blank period, the panel driver applies a pre-charge data voltage to the at least one pixel after the sensing operation, and applies a previous data voltage to the at least one pixel after a predetermined time from a time point at which the pre-charge data voltage is applied.

Provided is a display device comprising a display panel, a driving controller that receives an input image signal and outputs an image data signal, a voltage generator that generates a plurality of gamma voltages in response to a voltage control signal, and a data driving circuit that receives the plurality of gamma voltages and provides a data signal corresponding to the image data signal to the display panel. The driving controller operates between in a normal mode and in a power-saving mode. During the power-saving mode, the driving controller outputs the voltage control signal for changing voltage levels of the plurality of gamma voltages in response to the input image signal and a peak signal. At least one of the plurality of gamma voltages has a first voltage level during the normal mode and has a second voltage level lower than the first voltage level during the power-saving mode.

A display device includes a display panel including pixels, a gate driver configured to output a first gate signal for writing data voltages to the pixels and a second gate signal for applying an initialization voltage to the pixels, which have activation levels, to the pixels in a misconnection detection period, a data driver configured to output the data voltages to the pixels in the misconnection detection period, a power voltage generator electrically connected to the data driver through a cable and configured to output a first power voltage to the display panel in the misconnection detection period, and a timing controller electrically connected to the data driver through the cable and configured to perform a protection operation by detecting misconnection of the cable based on the first power voltage in the misconnection detection period.

A display device includes a first gain provider which controls a first gain value during a first display period in which a still image is displayed, a second gain provider which controls a second gain value during a second display period in which a moving image including a still area is displayed, and a grayscale converter which applies the first gain value or the second gain value to an input image and generates an output image. The first gain provider linearly or exponentially increases the first gain value to a maximum gain value based on a load of the still image from a first time point when the second display period changes to the first display period to a second time point at which the first gain value starts to decrease from the maximum gain value.
