A method of controlling, by using a mobile terminal, at least one Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device is provided. The information providing method includes placing the mobile terminal within a communication range of a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device previously registered in the mobile terminal, receiving identification information from the BLE device, extracting previously set notification information corresponding to the received identification information of the BLE device, and outputting a notification message to the mobile terminal based on the extracted previously set notification information.
