A sensing circuit of a display device includes a sensing line initialization circuit which substantially simultaneously initializes a first sensing line and a second sensing line in a first sub-sensing period of a sensing period, a first line selection switch which couples the first sensing line to a sensing channel in the first sub-sensing period, a second line selection switch which couples the second sensing line to the sensing channel in a second sub-sensing period of the sensing period, and the sensing channel which samples a first sensing voltage of the first sensing line in a first sampling period of the first sub-sensing period, and samples a second sensing voltage of the second sensing line in a second sampling period of the second sub-sensing period. The second sensing line is not initialized during a period from the first sampling period to the second sampling period.

Sensing circuit, display device and method of operating a sensing circuit

In a display device, each of pixels includes a light emitting element and a pixel circuit which is connected to the light emitting element at a first node and drives the light emitting element in response to a corresponding driving scan signal among driving scan signals during a display period. The pixel circuit is connected to a corresponding readout line among readout lines at a second node. The sensing circuit senses a potential of the first node through the corresponding readout line during a blank period, and each of frames includes the display period and the blank period. At least two driving scan signals among the driving scan signals respectively include a plurality of rewriting periods, each of which is activated during the blank period corresponding thereto, and the rewriting periods of the driving scan signals have different durations from each other.

Display device

A display device includes a display panel which operates in a sensing mode or an emission mode, and a data driver electrically connected to the display panel. The display panel includes a first pixel, a second pixel, a third pixel, a fourth pixel, a fifth pixel, a sixth pixel, a first scan line, a second scan line, a first data line, the second pixel. The data driver includes a first switch, a second switch, and an analog front end. The sensing mode includes a first period in which a first scan signal is provided to the first scan line and the first switch is turned on, a second period in which the first scan signal is provided to the first scan line and the second switch is turned on, and a third period in which a second scan signal is provided to the second scan line.

Display panel driving circuit and display device including same

A display device may include a display panel including a plurality of pixel rows, a power supply providing a power voltage to the display panel, and an overcurrent protector shutting down the power supply when at least one of the pixel rows is burnt. The overcurrent protector may include a sensing controller sensing a first current of at least one first pixel row of the display panel in a first frame period, and sensing a second current of the first pixel row in a second frame period after the first frame period when the first current is greater than or equal to a first threshold value. The overcurrent protector may further include a burnt determiner determining whether the first pixel row is burnt, and providing a shutdown signal to the power supply when the first pixel row is burnt.

Display device and method of driving display device

A power voltage generator includes a booster, a voltage sensor, a constant voltage controller and a constant current controller. The booster is configured to boost an input voltage to an output voltage based on an on-off operation of a switch. The voltage sensor is configured to generate a sensing voltage by sensing the output voltage. The constant voltage controller is configured to generate a first switching signal to control the switch by comparing the sensing voltage with a reference voltage. The constant current controller is configured to generate a gain based on a ratio of an electrode signal of the switch and a target signal by comparing the electrode signal of the switch with the target signal.

Power voltage generator and display device having the same

A display device includes: a net power control circuit configured to analyze a screen load from an input image signal to generate a load signal including a load value corresponding to the screen load; and an overcurrent protection circuit configured to set a set current value at a predetermined ratio with respect to a global current value corresponding to the load value included in the load signal, and to determine whether or not the display device is powered off based on the set current value.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a gate driver, a data driver and an emission driver. The display panel is configured to display an image. The gate driver is configured to output a gate signal having different applying timings for frames according to a difference between a grayscale value of a present frame image and a grayscale value of a previous frame image to the display panel. A display device includes a display panel including a gate driving circuit which drives gate lines, a data driving circuit which drives data lines based on an image data signal and a driving reference voltage, and a driving controller which controls the gate driving circuit in response to an image signal and a control signal and provides the image data signal and the driving reference voltage to the data driving circuit. The driving controller generates a data enable signal having a display section and a blank section in one frame based on the control signal, and when a difference between a time length of the blank section of a current frame and a time length of the blank section of a previous frame is greater than a reference value, changes the driving reference voltage to a voltage level corresponding to a current frame frequency.

Display device capable of changing frame frequency and driving method thereof

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a first gate driver. The display panel includes a plurality of data lines extending in a first direction, and a plurality of gate lines extending in a second direction obliquely inclined toward the first direction and spaced apart from each other in a third direction crossing the second direction. The plurality of gate lines includes a first gate line group and a second gate line group respectively disposed in first and second display areas of the display panel. The first gate driver is configured to drive at least one gate line of the second gate line group while driving at least one gate line of the first gate line group.

A method for driving a display panel includes at least two driving operations. The first driving operation includes driving a first display area of the display panel by outputting a data signal of a first frame to the first display area and driving a gate line of a first gate line group in the first display area. The second driving operation includes driving a second display area of the display panel by outputting a data signal of a second frame to the second display area and driving a gate line of a second gate line group in the second display area. The first display area is adjacent to the second display area, and the first frame is different from the second frame.
