The present invention relates to the novel strainSKU714, a method for producing cellulase from the strain and a method for saccharifying cellulose using the produced cellulase. Since the cellulase produced by the novel strain according to the present invention exhibits better saccharification yield than the existing saccharification enzymes, it can be used in various applications, including bioenergy production, textile industry, papermaking industry, detergent industry, feed industry, food industry, production of low-calorie foods, fermentation of food wastes, or the like.

The present invention is to enhance the stability and enzyme activity of an L-arabitol dehydrogenase derived fromusing techniques from quantum mechanics and molecular mechanics and partial mutation techniques. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for preparing an L-arabitol dehydrogenase in which a residue which affects enzyme stability is found through a screening based on quantum mechanics and molecular mechanics, and enzyme activity is enhanced by mutation of the found residue, nucleic acid molecules encoding the L-arabitol dehydrogenase, a vector including the nucleic acid molecules, a transformant including the vector, a mutant of the L-arabitol dehydrogenase and an improved L-arabitol dehydrogenase.

There are provided a novel ribitol dehydrogenase, a residue determining double coenzyme specificity, and a method for preparing L-ribulose using the same, and more particularly, to a ribitol dehydrogenase producing rare sugars, nucleic acid molecules encoding the same, a vector including the nucleic acid molecules, a transformant including the vector, a mutant of the ribitol dehydrogenase, and a method for preparing L-ribulose using the ribitol dehydrogenase.
