Disclosed is a method for fabrication of a patterned micro-architectural array by directional photo-fluidization of a polymer, which includes a process for formation of a micro-architectural array, the method comprising preparing a micro-fluidic device by bonding a rubber mold having a micro-pattern to a substrate, introducing a polymer solution to the micro-fluidic device, drying the polymer to form a polymer line array corresponding to a pattern of a micro-fluidic tube, inducing directional photo-fluidization by light radiation to control shape and size of the micro-architectural array, and applying metal to the polymer array having controlled structure by directional photo-fluidization then selectively removing the polymer, in order to transfer the shape of the polymer onto the micro-architectural array. Precisely controlled and various micro-architectures having different sizes as well as regular alignment shapes may be fabricated in large scale and parallel mode by transferring the foregoing controlled template onto the architecture.

Method for fabrication of patterned micro/nano architectures using directional photo-fluidization of polymer

The present invention relates to the structure of a bipolar plate for direction methanol fuel cell, the shape of a flow path and a fuel cell including them, more particularly, to the structure of a bipolar plate for direct methanol fuel cell using a flow path with a dispersion structure not the existing serpentine type for supplying a fuel to the new bipolar plate and functioning as a collector and the shape of a flow path. According to the present invention, a fluid flow resistance is decreased and a direct reaction region of a fluid and an electrode catalyst is increased in a bipolar plate, and therefore the performance of a fuel Cell can be improved.

The present invention relates to a novel process for preparing a lithium polymer secondary battery which comprises a step of direct coating of a plasticized and crosslinked polymer electrolyte onto a lithium electrode. The process for preparing a lithium polymer secondary battery comprises the steps of: (i) dissolving a mixture of a crosslinking agent and a monomer in a molar ratio of 1:1 to 1:11 in a liquid electrolyte of 100 to 400% (w/w) to obtain a polymer electrolyte; (ii) applying the polymer electrolyte onto one side of a lithium electrode and treating with heat or UV to obtain a polymer-coated electrode; and, (iii) bonding the polymer-coated electrode to a positive electrode. In accordance with the present invention, a lithium polymer secondary battery with an improved interfacial stability between a lithium electrode and a polymer electrolyte can be prepared in a simple manner, which makes possible its wide application in the development of lithium polymer secondary battery.

Process for preparing lithium polymer secondary battery

The present invention provides a polymer in which coumarin, a photo-reactive molecule, is grafted onto a polyimide for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer which has a superior alignment property and an excellent thermal stability in photo-alignment, a process for preparing the said grafted polymer, a process for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer by employing the said grafted polymer, and a liquid crystal alignment layer prepared by the process. The polymer of the invention is prepared by mixing a coumarin compound with a polyimide, dissolving the mixture in an organic solvent, adding a catalyst, and stirring under an environment of N gas. The polymer of the invention is superior in terms of the thermal stability, which makes possible its universal application for the development of a novel liquid crystal display(LCD).

Polymer for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer

The present invention relates to a polymer blend of cinnamate polymer and polyimide polymer, which are photo-reactive polymers, for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer having a high pretilt angle in photo-alignment, a process for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer by employing the said blend, a liquid crystal alignment layer prepared by the process, and a crystal cell prepared by employing the liquid crystal alignment layer. The polymer blend for preparing liquid crystal alignment layer of the invention comprises 10 to 90% (w/w) of cinnamate polymer and 10 to 90% (w/w) of polyimide polymer. Since the liquid crystal alignment layer prepared by employing the polymer blend of the invention has an excellent alignment property and thermal stability, which makes possible its wide application in the development of liquid crystal displays.

The present invention provides a process for preparing biodegradable aliphatic polyester grafted with polyether which comprises a step of ring opening polymerization of a hydrophilic monomer of epoxide-substituted ethyleneglycolmethylether oligomer or ethyleneglycol oligomer, and a biocompatible cyclic monomer forming polymer backbone with the said monomer, and a non-toxic biodegradable polymer prepared therefrom. In accordance with the invention, the graft ratio and molecular weight of polyether in the biodegradable aliphatic polyester can be easily controlled, and the hydrophlicity and crystallinity are also regulated thereby. The biodegradable polymer of the invention has features of minimized protein adhesion and superior softness, due to its hydrophilic side-chain. Accordingly, it can be applied as biomedical polymers such as the matrices for drug delivery system, suture thread, or bioabsorbable and water-soluble polymers.
