The described technology relates generally to a power supply, a display device including the same, and a driving method thereof to reduce power consumption of the display device. Embodiments include a power source voltage controller sensing a panel current flowing in the display panel and controlling a feedback voltage according to the panel current and the power source voltage, and a DC-DC converter generating a power source voltage according to the feedback voltage to respectively supply it to the plurality of light emitting elements.

A light emitting display is configured to reduce or prevent motion blur by shortening a time that a black frame is displayed between image frames. One embodiment includes display region, a data driver, a scan driver, and a controller. The display region displays frames of images according to a data signal and a scan signal. The data driver transmits data for displaying first frames and second (black) frames between the first frames. The scan driver includes first and second scan driving circuits for transmitting scan signals, and a switch unit for selectively coupling the first and second scan driving circuits. The scan driver transmits scan signals sequentially during the first frames and transmits scan signals to at least two of the scan lines concurrently by driving the first and second scan driving circuits in parallel during the second frames. The controller transmits a driving control signal to control the switch.

Organic light emitting display device including a plurality of scan driving circuits for driving scan signals corresponding to image signals and black image signals and method of driving the same

A pixel according to an embodiment includes: an organic light emitting diode (OLED); a first transistor coupled between a data line and a first node and configured to be turned on when a scan signal is supplied to a scan line; a third transistor coupled between a reference power source and a second node and configured to be concurrently turned on and off with the first transistor; a storage capacitor coupled between the first node and the second node; a second transistor coupled between a first power source and the OLED and having a gate electrode coupled to the first node; a fourth transistor coupled between the first power source and the second node and having a gate electrode coupled to a control line; and a fifth transistor coupled between the second transistor and the OLED and having a gate electrode coupled to an emission control line.

In an energy recovery circuit of a plasma display panel, after storing energy in the inductor, the panel capacitor is charged by using a resonance and the stored energy. A first time period during which energy is stored in the inductor before discharging the panel capacitor is longer than a second time period during which energy is stored in the inductor before charging the panel capacitor, so that a voltage higher than half of the sustain-discharge voltage is charged to the energy recovery capacitor. In addition, the first time period of the case in which the load ratio is low is shorter than the first time period of the case in which the load ratio is high, so that the thermal stress applied to the energy recovery circuit may be reduced.

Plasma display device and driving method of plasma display panel

A novel design for dummy ribs in a plasma display panel. The plasma display panel includes upper and lower substrates which are installed to be spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance and which contain therebetween a plurality of barrier ribs and discharge spaces that are between the barrier ribs. The plasma display panel has a display region for displaying images from the discharge spaces. Outside the display region are formed sets of dummy ribs which are positioned in parallel to each other and spaced by a predetermined distance from the display region. Dummy ribs serve to support the upper and lower substrates while maintaining a predetermined distance therebetween. Each set of dummy ribs has at least one reinforcing rib specially designed to be resilient to damage. When exposed to sandblasting, the reinforcing rib remains functional and continues to keep the upper and the lower substrates separated by a predetermined distance.

Plasma display panel

A plasma display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate mounted opposing the first substrate with a predetermined gap therebetween to thereby form a vacuum assembly, and barrier ribs formed between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier ribs defining discharge cells. The barrier ribs are formed so as to provide radial exhaust paths for each of the discharge cells. Moreover, the barrier ribs are configured dimensioned and arranged so as to maximize the exhaust efficiency of the plasma display panel.
