An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display device can include a pixel and a data driver. The pixel includes a driving thin film transistor (TFT) to drive an OLED element, a first switching TFT to connect a data line to a gate electrode of the driving TFT, a second switching TFT to connect a reference line to a source electrode of the driving TFT and a capacitor connected between the gate electrode and the source electrode of the driving TFT. The data driver includes a first amplifier to drive the data line with a reference voltage or a data voltage, a second amplifier to drive the reference line with an initialization voltage, and a third amplifier to sense a voltage of the reference line and supply a reference sensing voltage to the second amplifier, in which the reference line voltage is based on a threshold voltage of the driving TFT.

Disclosed is an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device. The OLED display device includes a target current setting unit connected to a pixel via a data line, to set a target current meeting a data voltage during a sampling period before a holding period to a target current to drive an OLED element during the holding period. The pixel includes a drive thin film transistor (TFT) for driving the OLED element, a first switching TFT to connect the drive TFT to a first power line for the sampling period such that the drive TFT serves as a diode, a second switching TFT to connect a source electrode of the drive TFT to the data line for the sampling period, and a capacitor connected between gate and source electrodes of the drive TFT, to store a drive voltage for the drive TFT determined based on the target current.

A device and method for driving a liquid crystal display device, which is capable of improving image quality and reducing power consumption by varying a light emission region of a backlight unit according to brightness characteristics of a display image, is disclosed. The driving device includes a liquid crystal panel, panel drivers, a timing controller for generating control signals to control the panel drivers, analyzing a brightness distribution of externally input image data to set the number of divisional driving regions of a backlight, and generating a dimming control signal to control the brightness of each of the divisional driving regions, and a backlight unit for divisionally setting the driving regions of the backlight according to the number of divisional driving regions and the dimming control signal and driving the driving regions according to the dimming control signal to irradiate light to the liquid crystal panel.
