A charging system for improving a power factor and a current quality in a grid stage is provided. The charging system includes a rectifying circuit that is configured to rectify a grid power and a converter that is configured to receive a voltage-current rectified by the rectifying circuit and convert the voltage-current into a charge voltage-current to be provided to a battery. A capacitor is connected across a connection end of the rectifying circuit and the converter. The converter includes a first high frequency switching circuit, a transformer, and a second high frequency switching circuit.

Charging system without power factor correction circuit

Disclosed herein is a charging system using a wound rotor synchronous motor, capable of increasing a battery charging capacity while reducing the volume, weight, and/or cost of a vehicle increased due to an on-vehicle charging circuit. The charging system includes an inverter converting a DC output of a battery into a plurality of AC signals having different phases, a wound rotor synchronous motor having a plurality of stator coils, to which the AC signals having different phases are respectively input, and a field coil forming a mutual inductance with the stator coils, the field coil being installed in a rotor to form a magnetic flux using the DC output of the battery, and a controller allowing the battery and the field coil to be insulated from each other in a charge mode in which electricity from a grid is applied to the field coil of the wound rotor synchronous motor.

Charging system using wound rotor synchronous motor

Disclosed herein is a charging system using a wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM), capable of reducing volume, weight, and cost of a vehicle increased due to an on-board charging circuit and increasing a battery charge capacity. The charging system using a wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) includes an inverter converting power of a battery into alternating current (AC) powers having a plurality of different phases, a WRSM having a plurality of stator coils each receiving AC power of a different phase and a field coil forming mutual inductance with the plurality of stator coils and installed in a rotor to form a magnetic flux using power of the battery, and a controller controlling the battery side and the field coil side are insulated from each other in a charge mode in which grid power is applied to the field coil side of the WRSM.

The disclosure relates to an electric power conversion apparatus, and capable of determining a minimum output voltage of a boost converter based on a voltage of the grid, and comparing the minimum output voltage of the converter with an input voltage of the converter, and controlling the operation of the converter based on the comparison result, thereby reducing the unnecessary operation and switching loss of the converter, the electric power conversion apparatus according to the invention comprises a converter; and a control unit configured to detect a grid voltage to determine a minimum output voltage of the converter based on the grid voltage, and control the operation of the converter based on an input voltage of the converter and the determined minimum output voltage.

A double wound rotor type motor with a constant alternating current or direct current power supply input and a control method thereof is disclosed. The wound rotor type motor includes: a stator in which a coil directly connected to a single phase grid power supply or a direct current power supply is wound; a rotor that is rotatably supported in the stator; a power conversion device that is attached to the rotor and controls a rotor current without connection of a separate external power supply; and a control circuit that is connected to the power conversion device and controls the power conversion device.

A single external power supply variable speed induction motor and a control method thereof are disclosed. An induction motor includes: a stator in which coils directly connected to a single-phase or 3-phase or more systematic power supply are wound; a rotor that is supported to be rotatable in the stator; a power conversion device that is attached to the rotor and controls a rotor current without connection of a separate external power supply; and a control circuit that is connected to the power conversion device and controls the power conversion device.

Variable speed induction motor with single external power supply and control method thereof

A phase current prediction method is disclosed. The phase current prediction method predicts current representative of a PWM period using a motor model which receives current measured through a single current sensor as an input, instead of the measured current, and determines the predicted current to be phase current.

Method to predict phase current

A method of and apparatus to generate a position profile using lower-order polynomials. The device includes a pattern coefficient generator to generate pattern and time coefficients of a position pattern that is classified by velocity change, a contour generator to generate a pattern polynomial to define a contour of each section of the position pattern using the generated pattern and time coefficients, and a dual filter for generating a position profile by selectively activating one of a plurality of filters, which receive the pattern polynomial generated by the contour generator. The device uses lower-order polynomials and a small number of coefficients, thereby reducing the number of calculations required in the procedure to generate the position profile. The device generates a seamless and smooth position profile by preventing switching errors due to the difference between filter sizes.
