A method includes sending, by an access point (AP) to one or more stations (STAs), a request for channel state information (CSI). The request includes a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame including a common information field. The common information field including an indicator of whether trigger based (TB) sounding or non-trigger based (non-TB) is being used. Then, the method includes receiving, by the AP from the one or more STAs, a CSI feedback response based on the request. The common information field may be a null data packet announcement (NDPA) variant field in an alternative name and the indicator may utilize 1 bit.

Method and system method comprising encoding a source word to be transmitted in a data unit from a source station in a wireless network, generating a first OFDM symbol that carries a data segment corresponding to encoded bits of the source word, duplicating the first OFDM symbol to generate a second OFDM symbol that is a linear phase-rotated copy of the first OFDM symbol; and transmitting the data unit including the first OFDM symbol and the second OFDM symbol.

Data transmission for low power indoor wireless network

The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus related to NDPA frame indication. An aspect of the disclosure provides a method. The method includes sending, to one or more stations (STAs), a request for channel state information (CSI). The request includes a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame including a first field and a second field. The first field indicates presence of the second field, and the second field indicates a variant of the NDPA frame. The method further includes receiving, from the one or more STAs, a CSI feedback response based on the request. In some embodiments, the first field is one of a sounding dialog token field and indicates the presence of the second field via at least two bits. In some embodiments, the first field is a frame control field and indicates the second field via a 4-bit subtype subfield.

A procedure and frame structure for Wi-Fi sensing is described. An aspect of the disclosure provides a method of sensing. Such a method includes sending, by an initiating station (STA) to one or more responder STAs, a sensing request comprising a sensing announcement frame (SAF) indicating sensing set-up information including frame structure information. The SAF includes at least one field indicating the frame structure information including one or more of: a sensing set-up identifier (ID), an SAF version ID, a sensing session ID, a measurement set-up ID, and a measurement instance ID. The method further includes receiving, by the initiating STA from the one or more responder STAs, one or more responses based on the sensing request.

Methods and systems for Wi-Fi sensing announcement

The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus for coordinated beamforming. An aspect of the disclosure provides a method. The method includes sending, by a first access point (AP) of a plurality of collaborating APs, to one or more stations (STAs) associated with the plurality of collaborating APs, a request for channel state information (CSI) associated with the one or more STAs and the first AP. The method further includes receiving a response including the CSI associated with the one or more STAs and the first AP. The method further includes sending, to a second AP of the plurality of collaborating APs, a sounding request indicating the second AP to request, from the one or more STAs, CSI associated with the one or more STAs and the second AP. The method further includes sharing CSI information between the first and the second AP.

Protocol and frame format for coordinated beamforming

A method of communication includes duplication of a first field of a first content channel into a third field in a third content channel and applying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to only one of the first field and the third field. The first content channel is a first portion of a frame and the third content channel is a third portion of the frame. Duplication of a second field of a second content channel into a fourth field in a fourth content channel and applying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to only one of the second field and the fourth field. The second content channel is a second portion of a frame and the fourth content channel is a fourth portion of the frame. The first content channel and the second content channel form a first group of content channels and the third content channel and the fourth content channel form a second group of content channels. The method then transmits the frame.

EHT-SIG detection with various diversity schemes

A method for an access point to schedule obtaining frames from stations connected thereto is provided. Real-time applications provide frames and frame due dates to the stations. The frames and their due dates are stored in respective buffers of the stations. Each station identifies the earliest due date of all its buffered frames and provides the earliest due date to the access point. The access point orders the due dates and schedules the stations according to the order of the due dates. The access point then communicates with the stations according to the schedule and obtains the frames. A WLAN system implementing the method is also provided.

Systems and methods for providing a low delay service in a wireless local area network (WLAN)

Methods and apparatuses for encoding and decoding a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) for low power indoor (LPI) wireless communication, which includes a preamble portion and a payload portion. The preamble portion includes a first universal signal field (U-SIG), the first U-SIG comprising information regarding a payload portion of the PPDU. The preamble portion further includes a second U-SIG, which contains identical information regarding the payload portion of the PPDU. The repetition of the U-SIG may improve robustness of the preamble portion detection and also enable auto-detection of the PPDU for LPI communication.

Low power indoor frame format

Methods, devices and systems for allocating spectrum in a wireless local area network. A bit representation of the availability or unavailability of a plurality of sub-bands of a portion of frequency spectrum is generated and included in a physical layer protocol data unit, which is transmitted to a target station to allocate resource units within the portion of frequency spectrum for use by the target station. The sub-bands may be 20 MHz spectrum sub-bands for large-size resource units, or the portion of frequency spectrum may be a single 20 MHz band sub-divided into multiple sub-bands for allocating small-size resource units. A station that receives the data unit may decode the bit representation and use the allocated resource units to communicate over the wireless local area network.

Spectrum allocation for multiple resource units in a wireless network

The application relates to link adaptation for extremely high throughput (EHT) systems. In order to transmit parameters for EHT link adaptation, a control ID field in the HT control field of a MAC header is used to indicate that the A-control field of the HT control field contains EHT link adaptation information, and to indicate the presence of an additional EHT link adaptation extension field containing further EHT link adaptation information. Alternatively, B25 of the control information of the A-control field is used to indicate that the control field contains EHT link adaptation information, and to indicate the presence of an additional EHT link adaptation extension field containing further EHT link adaptation information.

Link adaptation for extremely high throughput systems

The application relates to link adaptation for extremely high throughput (EHT) systems. Various approaches are provided to enable transmission of link adaptation parameters for single-user multiple input multiple output (SU-MIMO), and multi-user multiple input multiple output MU-MIMO. In some embodiments, two control IDs in the A-control subfield are used, one for SU-MIMO and one for MU-MIMO. These can both be reserved control IDs, or a combination of a reserved control ID and control ID 2 normally used for HE link adaptation. In some embodiments, a single control ID in the A-control subfield is used. This can be a reserved control ID or control ID 2 normally used for HE link adaptation.

Link adaptation control for extremely high throughput systems

The present disclosure provides for methods and systems for improved channel information gathering mechanism. An aspect of the disclosure provides a method. The method includes sending, to one or more stations (STAs), a request for channel information. The channel information being related to one or more channels between an access point (AP) and the one or more STAs. The method further includes receiving, from the one or more (STA), one or more physical layer (PHY) protocol data units (PPDUs). The PPDUs includes channel feature information (CFI) associated with the one or more channels. In some embodiments, the request includes a beamforming report poll (BFRP) trigger frame having a user information field. The user information subfield indicating one or more thresholds associated with one or more parameters of the channel feature information.

Methods and systems for improved WLAN channel information gathering mechanism

Disclosed herein are devices, systems and methods between a between a plurality of collaborating Access Points (APs) and a receiving station (STA) operating in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The method include the steps of: transmitting, by each AP in the plurality of collaborating APs, a data frame to the receiving STA, each data frame has a preamble portion, the preamble portion including a signal (SIG) field, and the SIG field has a subfield including information representative of a total number of spatial streams transmitted by the plurality of collaborating Aps.

Systems and methods for extremely high throughput sounding process indication

The present disclosure provides for methods, systems and apparatus related to Variable High Throughput (HT) Control Field. An aspect of the disclosure provides for a method performed by a station (STA). The method includes sending, to a second STA, a message including a frame, the frame including a variable high throughput (HT) control field. The variable HT further includes a first subfield indicating an N number of control IDs, wherein N is equal to or more than one. The variable HT further includes N additional subfields. Each of the N additional subfield includes: a control identifier (ID) field and a control information field associated with the Control ID field. The method further includes receiving, from the second STA, a response.

Variable high throughput control field

Methods and systems for transmitting data in a wireless local area network (WLAN) are disclosed. The method comprises transmitting, in the WLAN, a trigger frame from a first wireless communication device, the trigger frame comprising one or more subfields of bits at predefined bit locations within the trigger frame that are populated with values for a second wireless communication device to copy into a trigger based frame for transmission to the first wireless communication device.
