A method and device for a wireless communication system are discussed. The method can be performed by a wireless device, and can include generating a pseudo-random sequence, generating a signal sequence based on the pseudo-random sequence, and transmitting the signal sequence. The pseudo-random sequence is initialized with an initial value based on a cell identifier of a cell.

Method of transmitting reference signal and transmitter using the same

A method and device for transmitting a reference signal are discussed. The method can be performed by a wireless device, and can include generating a pseudo-random sequence, generating a reference signal based on the pseudo-random sequence, and transmitting the reference signal sequence. The device can include a signal generator coupled with a data processor and configured to generate a pseudo-random sequence and a reference signal based on the pseudo-random sequence. The device can further include a transmit circuitry configured to transmit the reference signal sequence.

A method for mapping a physical hybrid automatic repeat request indicator channel (PHICH) is described. The method for mapping a PHICH includes determining an index of a resource element group transmitting a repetitive pattern of the PHICH, according to a ratio of the number of available resource element groups in a symbol in which the PHICH is transmitted and the number of available resource element groups in a first or second OFDM symbol, and mapping the PHICH to the symbol according to the determined index. In transmitting the PHICH, since efficient mapping is performed considering available resource elements varying with OFDM symbols, repetition of the PHICH does not generate interference between neighbor cell IDs and performance is improved.

A method of mapping symbols of a physical control format indicator channel (PCFICH) is described. A start position of a resource element to map the symbols for the PCFICH is determined by flooring a value, obtained by multiplying the number of resource blocks by a variable proportional to a symbol index for the PCFICH and then dividing the multiplied result by 2, wherein the resource blocks are transmitted in downlink. The symbols are mapped in the start position. Therefore, a problem of wasting resource elements or not being able to implement mapping can be solved by applying a simple mapping rule while mapping symbols of the PCFICH.

Method for physical control format indicator channel mapping

A User Equipment (UE) monitors a set of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) candidates for control information received from a base station at subframe k. The set of PDCCH candidates to monitor are defined in terms of search spaces. The UE monitors a UE-specific search space, among the search spaces, at each of aggregation levels (L) of 1, 2, 4 and 8 control channel elements (CCEs), the CCE being a resource unit comprising a specific number of resource elements and used for transmission of the control information. The L CCEs correspond to a first PDCCH candidate among the set of PDCCH candidates of the search space at a subframe k are located at positions given by: L*{(Y)mod(floor(C))}+i, wherein i&#x2212;0, . . . , L&#x2212;1, where Yis defined by: Y&#x2212;(A*Y+B) mod D. The variable C is determined based on the number of CCEs (N) divided by the aggregation level (L), and A, B, and D are predetermined constant values predetermined regardless of the aggregation levels L. The UE decodes the control information of the PDCCH.

Decoding control information received over a control channel

A method and device for transmitting or receiving an Acknowledgement/Negative-ACK (ACK/NACK) signal in a wireless communication system are discussed. The method of transmitting includes receiving scheduling information from a base station through a physical downlink control channel; receiving a data unit from the base station through a physical downlink shared channel based upon the scheduling information; determining an uplink resource index for transmitting the ACK/NACK signal for the data unit; and transmitting the ACK/NACK signal to the base station by using an uplink resource indicated by the uplink resource index, wherein the uplink resource index is determined by using index modification information, a smallest value of resource indexes used for the physical downlink control channel, and a value transferred from an upper layer, and wherein the index modification information is signaled through the physical downlink control channel.

A method and device for generating a reference signal sequence are discussed. The method includes generating the reference signal sequence, and transmitting the reference signal sequence, wherein the reference signal sequence is defined by a specific equation based on a pseudo-random sequence.

A User Equipment (UE) receives control information via a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) at subframe k. A decoder monitors a set of PDCCH candidates a UE-specific search space, among the search spaces, at each of aggregation levels (L) of 1, 2, 4 and 8 control channel elements (CCEs). The UE-specific search space is given based on a modulus operation using variables Yand C for the subframe k. Yis defined by: Y=(A*Y+B) mod D. C is determined based on the number of CCEs (N) divided by the aggregation level (L). A, B, and D are predetermined constant values regardless of the aggregation levels (L). Yis determined based on a UE identifier having 16-bits when k=0. The decoder decodes the control information of the PDCCH.

A method for transmitting information of resources for use in transmission of ACK/NACK signals in a mobile communication system is disclosed. An example method for receiving ACK/NACK signals in a mobile communication system is also disclosed. When resources for transmission of data and resources for transmission of control information of the data are scheduled through virtual unit resources, the method identifies information of resources for receiving an ACK/NACK signal for transmission data mapped to information of at least one of a virtual unit resource allocated to the transmission data and a virtual unit resource allocated to control information of the transmission data, and receives the ACK/NACK signal for the transmission data through the information of resources for receiving the ACK/NACK signal.
