Provided is a hyperspectral sensor including a spectral angle converting unit configured to convert an angle of incident light differently according to a wavelength, a diffraction unit configured to selectively diffract the incident light according to an incident angle and a wavelength, a focusing optics including at least one lens, and configured to collect diffracted light passing through the diffraction unit, and an image sensor configured to acquire an image passing through the focusing optics and formed on a focal plane, wherein the diffraction unit includes a volume Bragg grating having a periodic refractive index distribution therein.

Hyperspectral sensor

An optical waveguide structure includes a substrate and a core structure disposed on the substrate. The substrate includes a first waveguide region, a second waveguide region, and a transition region between the first waveguide region and the second waveguide region. The core structure includes first core segments arranged in a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction on the transition region. The core structure includes second core segments arranged in the first direction and the second direction on the second waveguide region. The first direction and the second direction are parallel to a top surface of the substrate.

Disclosed is a planar waveguide element including a first cylindrical lens disposed based on an z-axis and configured to collimate beams emitted from a plurality of emitters of a laser diode bar; a lens array configured to gather the beam emitted from each emitter via the first cylindrical lens; a plurality of first waveguides existing on an x-y plane by a number of the plurality of emitters and configured to gather at one place via a bending section; a taper configured to connect the lens array and each first waveguide, a width of the taper being narrower from the lens array to the plurality of first waveguide; and a combined waveguide configured to combine the plurality of first waveguides into one.

Planar waveguide element

The inventive concept provides optic couplers, optical fiber laser devices, and active optical modules using the same. The optic coupler may include a first optical fiber having a first core and a first cladding surrounding the first core, a second optical fiber having a second core transmitting a signal light to the first optical fiber and a third cladding surrounding the second core, third optical fibers transmitting pump-light to the first optical fiber in a direction parallel to the second optical fiber; and a connector connected between the first optical fiber and the second optical fiber, the connector extending the third optical fibers disposed around the second optical fiber toward the first optical fiber, the connector comprising a third core connected between the first core and the second core and a fifth cladding surrounding the third core.

Optic coupler, optical fiber laser device, and active optical module using the same

Provided is a resonator of a hybrid laser diode. The resonator includes: a substrate including a semiconductor layer where a hybrid waveguide, a multi-mode waveguide, and a single mode waveguide are connected in series; a compound semiconductor waveguide, provided on the hybrid waveguide of the semiconductor layer, having a tapered coupling structure at one end of the compound semiconductor waveguide, the tapered coupling structure overlapping the multi-mode waveguide partially; and a reflection part provided on one end of the single mode waveguide. The multi-mode waveguide has a narrower width than the hybrid waveguide and the single mode waveguide has a narrower width than the multi-mode waveguide.

Resonator of hybrid laser diode

Provided are a hybrid laser diode for single mode operation, and a method for manufacturing the hybrid laser diode. The hybrid laser diode includes a silicon layer, an active pattern disposed on the silicon layer, and a bonding layer disposed between the silicon layer and the active pattern. Here, the bonding layer includes diffraction patterns constituting a Bragg grating.

Hybrid laser diode for single mode operation and method of fabricating the same

Provided are a waveguide structure and an arrayed waveguide grating structure. The arrayed waveguide grating structure includes an input star coupler, an output star coupler, and a plurality of arrayed waveguides optically connecting the input star coupler and the output star coupler. Each of the arrayed waveguides includes at least one section having a high confinement factor and at least two sections having a relatively low confinement factor. The sections of the arrayed waveguides having a high confinement factor have the same structure.

Waveguide structure and arrayed waveguide grating structure

Provided are a superluminescent diode with a high optical power and a broad wavelength band, and a method of fabricating the same. The superluminescent diode includes: at least one high optical confinement factor (HOCF) region; and at least one low optical confinement factor (LOCF) region having a lower optical confinement factor than the HOCF region. The method includes obtaining a difference of optical confinement factors in the HOCF region and the LOCF region through a selective area growth method, the selective area growth method using a deposition thicknesses difference of thin layers according to a width difference of openings that expose a substrate.

High-power, broad-band, superluminescent diode and method of fabricating the same

Provided is a hybrid laser diode. The hybrid laser diode includes: a silicon layer constituting a slab waveguide; and a compound semiconductor layer disposed on the silicon layer to constitute a channel waveguide.
