According to an aspect of a present invention, there is provided the breast pump comprising a contact housing comprising a protruding part configured to correspond to a mother's nipple and extend toward a front; a cap connector coupled to cover the protruding part to form a first inner space; a funnel connector on the cap connector to form a second inner space; a linking pathway between the funnel connector and the cap connector and configured to link the second inner space of the funnel connector with the first inner space of the cap connector; a storage housing comprising a coupling hole to correspond to the second inner space of the funnel connector and coupled with the contact housing; a lid coupled to cover the second inner space of the funnel connector through the coupling hole of the storage housing; a flow separation membrane configured to divide and separate the second inner space between the funnel connector and the lid; an air pathway in the lid through which air flows into and out from a space between the lid and the flow separation membrane; and an attachable pump module on the lid to suck the air between the lid and the flow separation membrane through the air pathway, wherein the attachable pump module is integrally coupled with the lid to be detachably coupled to the coupling hole.

The present invention relates to a composition for suppressing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) comprising aextract, a fraction thereof, or a compound isolated therefrom and, more particularly, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating COPD comprising aextract, a fraction thereof, or a compound isolated therefrom; a food composition for preventing or improving COPD, and the compound isolated therefrom. The composition comprising aextract, a fraction thereof, or a compound isolated therefrom, according to the present invention, is not toxic, suppresses the invasion of inflammatory cells into the bronchial tube of a COPD-induced animal model, and effectively suppresses the expression of CXCL-1, TNF-&#x3b1;, or MIP-2. In addition, due to the use of a safety-proven herbal drug as a raw material, the composition of the present invention can resolve various side-effects of existing therapeutic agents for COPD, chronic obstructive bronchitis, chronic bronchiolitis, emphysema, multiple sclerosis, and acute and chronic inflammation, and thus can be effectively used as a composition for preventing, treating and remedying COPD.

In addition, theJ. Poiss. ex Franch extract or the fraction thereof according to the present invention effectively inhibits the secretion of immunoglobulins in serum, secretion of mucus in the bronchial tubes, and infiltration of inflammatory cells into lung tissue and thus can be usefully used as a safe preparation for preventing and treating asthma.

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating asthma, the composition containing styraxlignolide A or an aglycone thereof as an active ingredient. More particularly, styraxlignolide A compound is one separated from stems and barks of, and styraxlignolide A or homoegonol, which is an aglycone of styraxlignolide A and which has improved safety, has the effect of attenuating weight loss and airway hyperresponsiveness, inhibiting the generation of reactive oxygen species in airway, inhibiting generation of IgE, TGF-&#x3b2;1, and IL-17 in the serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, inhibiting endobronchial inflammatory cell infiltration, and inhibiting the formation of a mucous plug and subepithelial fibrosis in an asthma-induced mouse model. Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for the prophylaxis and therapy of inflammatory diseases, allergic diseases, or asthma, comprising a velvet apple (A. DC.) extract as an active ingredient. Having the inhibitory activity against the nuclear translocation of NF-&#x3ba;B, whose level is rapidly elevated in response to inflammatory stimuli, the velvet apple extract can suppress the production of NO and PGE, the expression of iNOS and COX-2, and the release of IL-1&#x3b2; and TNF-&#x3b1;, and can significantly down regulate Th2-mediated IL-4 and IL-13 production.
