The second opening has an area smaller than an area of the first opening.

A display device includes a pixel disposed in a display area. The pixel includes a first electrode and a second electrode spaced apart from each other; a light emitting element disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and including a first end portion and a second end portion; a third electrode disposed on the first end portion of the light emitting element and electrically connecting the first end portion to the first electrode; and a fourth electrode disposed on the second end portion of the light emitting element and electrically connecting the second end portion to the second electrode. An opening is formed in at least one of the first to fourth electrodes and disposed in a first area and a second area that are adjacent to the first end portion and the second end portion of the light emitting element.

Pixel and display device including the same

A display device includes a first base substrate, a second base substrate, pixels, a first polarizer, and a second polarizer. The first base substrate includes light transmitting areas and a light blocking area surrounding each of the light transmitting areas. The pixels respectively overlap the light transmitting areas. The first and second polarizers are spaced apart from each other such that the pixels are disposed therebetween. At least one of the first and second polarizers includes a plurality of optical conversion layers, each of which comprises a plurality of lattice wires.

Display device containing multiple optical conversion layers

A polarizer and a liquid crystal display including the polarizer, the polarizer including a plurality of metal lines extending in one direction and being arranged at regular intervals; and a plurality of low reflection layers on the plurality of metal lines, the plurality of low reflection layers contacting respective upper parts of the plurality of metal lines and having an interval and a width about equal to an interval and a width of the plurality of metal lines, wherein the interval of the plurality of metal lines is smaller than a wavelength of a visible ray, and light incident from an upper side of the plurality of low reflection layers is reflected with reflectivity equal to or smaller than 10%.

Polarizer and liquid crystal display including the same

A display apparatus may include a backlight assembly configured to generate an emitted light and a display panel configured to receive the emitted light to display images. The display panel may include a display substrate, an opposite substrate facing the display substrate, a wire grid polarizer, and a reflection reducing layer. The wire grid polarizer may be disposed on at least one of the display substrate and the opposite substrate to polarize the emitted light. The reflection reducing layer may have a grid shape and may be disposed on the wire grid polarizer. The reflection reducing layer may reduce an amount of a light reflected by the wire grid polarizer.

Display apparatus

A display device includes a light providing assembly to provide light, and a display panel to display an image using the light. The display panel includes a first substrate (FS), a second substrate (SS), a liquid crystal layer (LCL), a polarizing plate (PP), a first optical element (FOE), and a second optical element (SOE). The FS includes a pixel region (PR) and a non-PR (NPR) adjacent to the PR. The SS faces the FS. The LCL is disposed between the FS and SS. The PP is disposed between the FS and LCL, and includes grid polarizing layers. The FOE is disposed between the FS and PP, and is configured to redirect a fraction of the light propagating toward the NPR in a first direction. The SOE is disposed between the FOE and PP, and is configured to redirect the fraction of light propagating in the first direction toward the PR.

An organic light emitting display device includes a substrate comprising a first side and a second side, a first electrode on the first side of the substrate, an emitting layer on the first electrode, a second electrode on the emitting layer, and a slit-shaped pattern at the second side of the substrate, and comprising a plurality of protrusions spaced apart from each other.

Organic light emitting display device and manufacturing method thereof

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal layer, a light source, a first polarizing member, and a reflector. The first polarizing member includes a wire-grid polarizing part and a reflection part. The first polarizing member is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the light source. The reflector is disposed below the light source. The reflector reflects light from the light source and light reflected from the reflection part.

Liquid crystal display and fabrication method of the same

A liquid crystal display includes a transparent insulation substrate, a first polarizer, and a semiconductor layer, a thin film transistor, and a backlight unit. The first polarizer is disposed on the transparent insulation substrate. The first polarizer includes a light blocking film and metal wires. The semiconductor layer, disposed on the light blocking film, has a perimeter aligned with a perimeter of the light blocking film. The thin film transistor, disposed on the semiconductor layer, includes a source region and a drain region disposed in the semiconductor layer. The backlight unit, disposed under the transparent insulation substrate, provides light to the transparent insulation substrate. The blocking film reflects substantially all of the light. Gaps are disposed between the metal wires.

Liquid crystal display and manufacturing method thereof

A wire grid polarizer including a substrate, parallel conductive wire patterns which protrude from a top surface of the substrate, non-conductive wire patterns which are formed on the conductive wire patterns, respectively, and a protective layer which is formed on the conductive wire patterns and the non-conductive wire patterns. The protective layer includes first transparent particles having a diameter greater than a period of the conductive wire patterns, and spaces between the conductive wire patterns are filled with air or are evacuated to form a vacuum.
