In one aspect, a wireless device receives a scheduling grant and a grant confirmation signal indicating that a network node has performed a CCA on a carrier and is releasing the carrier for the wireless device. An uplink message is transmitted on the carrier without performing a CCA on the carrier. In another aspect, a wireless device is connected to a first cell and a second cell configured on a carrier requiring an LBT protocol. The wireless device receives configuration messages indicating that downlink transmissions on the second cell are to be scheduled. This can mean self-scheduling for downlink on the second cell and cross-carrier scheduling for uplink on the first cell. The wireless device receives a scheduling grant in the first cell and performs a CCA in the second cell. The wireless device then transmits an uplink message responsive to success of the CCA.

There is disclosed a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network. The method includes transmitting control information utilizing a control information format, the control information format being selected from a plurality of different control information formats based on a format indication. Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate to frequency domain resource allocation for interlaced transmission. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a reserved resource indicator that indicates an uplink reserved resource pattern. The uplink reserved resource pattern defines at least which subset of uplink Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) from among a set of allocated uplink PRBs are not available for uplink transmission. In this manner, a low overhead, flexible frequency domain resource allocation scheme for partial interlace transmission is provided.

A method, network node and wireless device for fractional reuse of resources with flexible energy detection in unlicensed spectrum are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method in a network node includes associating each of a plurality of sets of resources within a cell with a different energy detection (ED) threshold, the resources in each set of the plurality of sets of resources being at least one of time resources and frequency resources. The method also includes assigning each set of resources of the plurality of sets of resources to a different set of a plurality of sets of wireless devices (WDs).

Fractional reuse of resources with flexible energy detection in unlicensed spectrum

A method, network node and wireless device (WD) for scheduling multiple transport blocks (TB) each over multiple slots using single downlink control information (DCI) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a network node is configured to communicate with a wireless device is provided. According to one aspect, a method includes configuring multiple transmission resources or multiple sets of transmission occasions for a radio resource control configured periodic uplink transmission. A method for use in a transmitter includes sending a transmission comprising a transport block (TB) comprising a plurality of code blocks (CBs) arranged in one or more code block groups (CBGs). Each code block group includes one or more code blocks and each code block includes a plurality of coded bits. The transmission is sent to a receiver configured to use multi-bit hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback per transport block. HARQ handling for nodes with variable processing times

The present disclosure described systems and methods for providing OTT services to a UE. An exemplary OTT-providing host computer includes a transceiver, a processor, and memory collective configured to provide the OTT service by initiating transmission of user data to the UE. To transmit the user data from the host computer to the wireless device, a network node sends a first control message for assigning a PDSCH, the first control message comprising a first MCS indication as described. The network node sends to the wireless device a second control message for assigning a PDSCH, the second control message comprising a second MCS indication as described. The network node transmits the user data thereafter.

Methods and systems for performance enhancement of downlink shared channels

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for a network node to communicate with a wireless device (WD). The network node and/or WD are configured to determine a transport block, TB, size based at least in part on a number of resource elements in a plurality of time slots; determine a segmentation of a transport block, TB, having the TB size, the segmentation producing a plurality of segmented code blocks, CBs; determine a channel coding for each of the plurality of segmented CBs, the channel coding producing a plurality of coded CBs; and one of transmit and receive the plurality of coded CB s over the plurality of time slots according to the determined segmentation and the determined channel coding.

Transport block (TB) determination for TB transmission over multiple slots

A first group embodiments provide a method performed by a network node (NN) in a wireless network comprising responsive to a DL data intended for a user equipment (UE), transmitting a first short signal burst to the UE over a channel using a directional beam, and based on detecting a first response to the first short signal burst from the UE indicating that the channel is available, transmitting at least a portion of the DL data to the UE over the channel using the directional beam. Receiver assisted directional channel sensing for NR-U

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed for enabling inter carrier interference compensation for interleaved mapping from virtual to physical resource blocks. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to determine to configure the first signal to be located at a subcarrier except at an edge sub-carrier of a resource block, RB; transmit the configuration of the first signal to the WD; and receive a physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, signaling and the first signal from the WD based at least in part on the determined configuration. In one embodiment, a WD is configured to perform a de-inter-carrier-interference (de-ICI) filter estimation on a first received signal and a second received signal; apply a de-ICI filter to a third received signal, the de-ICI filter being based on the de-ICI filter estimation; and after the application of the de-ICI filter, de-interleaved map and demodulate the third received signal.

Enabling inter carrier interface compensation for interleaved mapping from virtual to physical resource blocks

A method for accessing a cellular communications network in unlicensed spectrum is provided. More specifically, the method is related to performing a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) procedure prior to transmitting a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) preamble for accessing a New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) network. A User Equipment (UE) first performs the LBT procedure. If the LBT procedure is successful, the UE then generates a punctured PRACH preamble and transmits the punctured PRACH preamble. By puncturing the PRACH preamble, it is possible to create a gap(s) for performing the LBT procedure in a way that is backward compatible with existing NR-U specification and does not reduce a number of random access occasions in a slot or a mini-slot. As a result, it is possible to transmit PRACH preambles in consecutive random access occasions, thus helping to increase spectrum utilization and reduce latency in the cellular communications network.

Method for accessing a cellular communications network in unlicensed spectrum

A system and method for providing time domain allocations in a communication system. In an embodiment, an apparatus operable in a communication system and including processing circuitry is configured to receive an indication of a time domain allocation in downlink control information associated with a radio network temporary identifier ('RNTI') identifying the apparatus, and employ the time domain allocation associated with the RNTI for transmissions associated with the apparatus. In another embodiment, an apparatus operable in a communication system and including processing circuitry is configured to associate a time domain allocation with a RNTI identifying a user equipment, and provide an indication of the time domain allocation in downlink control information to allow the user equipment to employ the time domain allocation associated with the RNTI for transmissions associated therewith.
