Disclosed are electrostatically-sprayable topical compositions, more particularly topical emulsion compositions, and methods of treating the skin by electrostatic application of such compositions. In one aspect the composition comprises an insulating external phase comprising one or more insulating materials and a conductive internal phase comprising one or more conductive materials. The compositions preferably also contain one or more particulate materials to be deposited on the skin, e.g., pigments, inert absorbents and the like.

A disposable absorbent article, such as a sanitary napkin, is disclosed that has components which may separate in the Z-direction with relation to other components of the article when the absorbent article is worn. The sanitary napkin of the present invention comprises a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a liquid pervious spacing structure for moving the topsheet away from the core. The spacing structure is generally positioned between the topsheet and the core. The spacing structure has a longitudinal centerline, and opposed lateral sides which may move inwardly toward the longitudinal centerline when the spacing is compressed from the sides. This results in at least a portion of the spacing structure moving the topsheet apart from the absorbent core. In an alternative embodiment, the sanitary napkin of the present invention also has an absorbent core which separates from the backsheet of the sanitary napkin.

A unitary disposable absorbent article such as a catamenial pad or incontinent pad is provided with an elasticized side flap by operatively associating an elastic member on both the upper surface and the lower surface of the side flap. The elastic member is preferably joined to the inner surface of the side flap as well as the outer surface of the side flap by folding it about the distal edge of the side flap. In a preferred embodiment, the elastic member comprises an elastomeric laminate of an elastomeric layer and a coverstock layer, with the coverstock layer being on the outside of the product, so that the sanitary napkin is provided with soft longitudinal edges which contact the wearer during use. In addition, the elastomeric laminate provides relatively low tension that while raising the side flaps of the product to be a barrier against lateral leakage, also maintain the product in a shape which does not encourage fluid run-off or leakage at the ends of the pad as well as providing a bunching benefit.

Elasticized sanitary napkin

A pouched through the washer and dryer laundry additive product having at least one of its walls constructed of finely apertured polymeric film. In a particularly preferred embodiment, both pouch walls are constructed of finely apertured polymeric film to permit substantially full dissolution and discharge of the washer additive contained in the pouch during the washing cycle, yet retain substantially all of the dryer additive until the product is transferred into an automatic clothes dryer along with the laundered textiles. Pouched through the washer and dryer laundry additive products of the present invention deliver a significantly greater quantity of dryer additive material onto the textiles being tumble dried when contrasted with comparably constructed pouches comprised entirely of nonwoven and/or paper material. Furthermore, pouched through the washer and dryer laundry additive products of the present invention accomplish the aforementioned objective without an accompanying increase in staining of the textiles by the dryer added materials. Subcombination dryer additive products which contain no washer additive, but which are capable of withstanding a wash cycle without adversely affecting their performance in the dryer are also disclosed.
