Disclosed is a refrigerator having an ice making apparatus installed at a cooling chamber door that opens/closes a cooling chamber. The refrigerator includes a body having a cooling chamber therein, a cooling chamber door to open/close the cooling chamber, and an ice making apparatus installed in the cooling chamber door to make ice. An ice making evaporator is provided in the ice making apparatus to independently supply the ice making apparatus with cooling air and an ice making evaporator chamber, in which an ice making evaporator is installed, is provided adjacent to the cooling chamber door while being partitioned from the cooling chamber.

Disclosed is a refrigerator in which a space occupied by an evaporating dish can be minimized, evaporation efficiency of defrost water by convection-heat transfer can be improved, air can be easily exhausted in a machine room, and thus the cooling efficiency of a compressor and a condenser can be improved. The refrigerator includes: a cooling apparatus including a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator; a blowing fan blowing air to cool at least one of the compressor and the condenser; a blowing guide duct guiding the air blown by the blowing fan to an exterior; and an evaporating dish installed in a lower portion of the blowing guide duct in order to collect and evaporate defrost water, the evaporating dish having an opened upper portion to communicate with a path of the blowing guide duct.

An ice making device and a refrigerator having the ice making device include an ice making tray having ice making grooves opened at upper sides thereof to receive water and a cool air flow channel disposed below the ice making grooves and along which cool air flows. Cool air is uniformly supplied from one side to the other side of the ice making tray along the cool air flow channel, and therefore, the ice making process is completed in a reduced time.
