A driving apparatus for an electric vehicle is provided. The driving apparatus for the electric vehicle can charge the other batteries using a charging voltage of any one battery in a state in which an engine is not driven, control a voltage generated by an integrated starter generator (ISG), selectively charge a plurality of batteries having different charging voltages without using a separate converter, and reduce a weight and volume thereof.

Driving apparatus for electric vehicle

An electric vehicle including an inverter which includes a plurality of elements to convert direct current power to alternating current power. The inverter includes first, second and third heat sinks to absorb heat within the inverter. The first, second, and third heat sinks including fluid passages therein to allow cooling fluid to pass through each of the heat sinks in parallel, wherein a controller controls the flow of the cooling fluid through each of the first, second and third heat sinks. Temperature sensors associated with each of the heat sinks allows the controller to control the flow of the cooling fluid to the corresponding heat sink. The inverter being part of a cooling fluid circulation circuit which includes a heater core which can transfer heat from the cooling fluid to a passenger space of a body of the vehicle.

Inverter apparatus and electric vehicle having the same

An apparatus for driving a motor of an electric vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes a capacitor supplied with power by a battery; an inverter configured to include a plurality of switching elements, convert direct current (DC) power stored in the capacitor into alternating current (AC) power in accordance with the switching of the switching elements and drive a motor with the AC power; and a capacitor protector provided between the battery and the capacitor and configured to consume initial power supplied by the battery at an early stage of the supply of power by the battery, the capacitor protector including a common resistor that consumes the DC power stored in the capacitor when the capacitor is discharged. Therefore, it is possible to guarantee the reliability of the apparatus.
