The present invention discloses a dual-frequency feed-source module and a dual-frequency microwave antenna, wherein the dual-frequency feed-source module mainly comprises two coaxially arranged waveguides, the two waveguides respectively provide microwave energy of two different frequency bands to radiating portions for feeding, so that the antenna can be operated in different frequency bands at the same time. The combination of the two coaxial waveguides, a reflector and other structures can form different microwave antennas such as a feedforward dual-band microwave antenna and a feedback Cassegrain dual-band microwave antenna. The invention feeds microwave energy through the two waveguides, so that the antenna can be operated in two frequency bands at the same time, thus greatly expanding an application range of the microwave antenna.

Dual-frequency feed source assembly and dual-frequency microwave antenna

A front feed reflector antenna with a dish reflector has a wave guide is coupled to a proximal end of the dish reflector, projecting into the dish reflector along a longitudinal axis. A dielectric block may be coupled to a distal end of the waveguide and a sub-reflector coupled to a distal end of the dielectric block. A shield is coupled to the periphery of the dish reflector. A subtended angle between the longitudinal axis and a line between the focal point and a distal periphery of the shield is 50 degrees or less.

Low sidelobe reflector antenna with shield

A polarization adjustment assembly for a reflector antenna is provided with a radio bracket with a mounting flange. The mounting flange is coupled to a hub provided with a stop portion. Fasteners couple the radio bracket to the hub via slots in the mounting flange, rotatable with respect to the hub within the extents of the slots. An adjustment bolt passes through a boss coupled to the mounting flange. The adjustment bolt abuts the stop portion, whereby longitudinal displacement of the adjustment bolt with respect to the boss rotates the radio bracket with respect to the hub. Alternatively, the positions of the boss and stop portion on the mounting flange and hub may be exchanged.

Method and apparatus for fine polarization reflector antenna adjustment

A dual polarized reflector antenna assembly, provided with a reflector dish coupled to a feed hub with a feed port there through; a transceiver support bracket coupled to a backside of the feed hub; a circular to square waveguide transition coupled to the feed port; a square waveguide coupled to the circular to square waveguide transition; an OMT coupled to the square waveguide; the OMT provided with an OMT intersection between a square waveguide and a pair of rectangular waveguides oriented at ninety degrees to one another, an output port of each rectangular waveguide arranged normal to a longitudinal axis of the dual polarized reflector antenna assembly. Alternatively, a circular waveguide may be applied between the feed port and the circular to square waveguide transition, eliminating the square waveguide, or the rectangular waveguides may be extended longitudinally, also eliminating the square waveguide.

Dual polarized reflector antenna assembly

A front feed reflector antenna with a dish reflector has a reflector focal length to reflector diameter ratio of less than 0.25. A wave guide is coupled to a proximal end of the dish reflector, projecting into the dish reflector along a longitudinal axis. A dielectric block is coupled to a distal end of the waveguide and a sub-reflector is coupled to a distal end of the dielectric block. A shield is coupled to the periphery of the dish reflector. The sub-reflector diameter is dimensioned to be 2.5 wavelengths or more of a desired operating frequency.

Low sidelobe reflector antenna

An enclosure for the open end of a reflector antenna includes a cylindrical shroud coupled to a distal end of the reflector antenna, the shroud generally coaxial with a longitudinal axis of the reflector antenna. A retaining band is coupled to an inner diameter of the shroud, proximate a distal end of the shroud. The retaining band is provided with a retaining groove open radially inward towards the longitudinal axis. The retaining groove provided with a bottom extending radially outward beyond an outer diameter of the shroud. A radome is seated within the retaining groove.

Radome and shroud enclosure for reflector antenna

A feed assembly for a reflector antenna having a unitary portion of dielectric material, a proximal end of the unitary portion configured for connection with the reflector antenna. The unitary portion having a waveguide portion extending between the proximal end and a sub reflector support having a sub reflector surface at a distal end. The waveguide portion and the sub reflector surface covered with an RF reflective material. The unitary portion may be cost effectively formed via, for example injection molding and or machining. Alternatively, the feed assembly may be formed as a horn feed, without a sub reflector.

Self-supporting unitary feed assembly

A reflector antenna mount for a reflector antenna with a primary mount coupled to a support arm. The primary mount rotatable in a first axis relative to the support arm. A secondary mount coupled to the primary mount; the secondary mount pivotable in a second axis relative to the primary mount. The reflector antenna coupled to a front side of the secondary mount; an electronics enclosure of the reflector antenna positioned on a back side of the secondary mount, the electronics enclosure coupled to the reflector antenna. A dielectric enclosure provided with a front face and a side surface coupled to the primary mount. The front face spaced away from the reflector antenna, outside of a range of motion of the directional antenna in the second axis.

Enclosed reflector antenna mount

An antenna feed angular alignment tool for an antenna feed and method of use. The tool having a body with a bore between a first end and a second end; a capsule, retained within the bore, having a first material and a second material enclosed within a cavity of the capsule. Coupling feature(s) integral with the body, proximate the first end are configured to rotationally couple with the antenna feed. The first material and the second material having different densities are movable within the capsule, indicating when the capsule and thereby the tool are aligned with a horizontal plane.

Antenna feed angular alignment tool

A radome adapted to reduce backlobes of an associated reflector antenna via application of a conductive ring with an inward facing edge about the periphery of the radome. The conductive ring may be applied extending around the radome periphery to an inside and or outside surface of the radome. The conductive ring may be formed upon the radome by metalising, electrodaging, over molding or the like. Further, the conductive ring may be a metal, metallic foil, conductive foam or the like which is coupled to the radome. An absorber in the form of a ring or a surface coating applied to the radome and or the distal end of the reflector may also be added between the radome and the reflector.

Reflector antenna radome with backlobe suppressor ring and method of manufacturing

A radome and a reflector antenna configured to mate with the radome. The radome has a central portion and a surrounding outer portion. The central portion having a radius selected to redirect a reflected component of the transmitted RF signal from the radome to the vertex area of the reflector. The outer portion has a larger radius selected to minimize radiation pattern degradation. RF absorbing material located at the vertex area reduces return loss of the reflector antenna. The radome attaches to the reflector via a plurality of tabs formed proximate the periphery of the radome that correspond to a plurality of cut outs in the periphery of the reflector. When inserted and rotated, the radome secures to the reflector without requiring tools.

Dual radius twist lock radome and reflector antenna for radome

A reflector antenna with a self supported feed assembly that may be formed by injection molding. A waveguide portion of the feed assembly has a dielectric cone at a distal end that supports and retains a sub reflector, for example along a periphery of the sub reflector. A conductive surface coating on an internal surface of the waveguide and a bottom surface of the sub reflector creates surfaces with RF reflective and conductive properties. The return loss of the feed assembly is reduced due to a reduction of the thickness of the material forming the dielectric cone, compared to prior dielectric block designs and a soft boundary condition produced by dielectric coating of the waveguide which aids in reducing reflections to the vertex area of the reflector.
