A novel method for service based network resource allocation is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving from a UE at a base station over a Primary Cell (PCell), a request message to perform an action with respect to a Secondary Cell (SCell), the request message including service information. The method then determines a specific action to be performed with respect to the SCell based on the service information. Finally, the method performs the specific action with respect to the SCell at the base station and transmits a connection reconfiguration message to the UE to direct the UE to perform the specific action based on a service to be supported.

Systems and methods for service based network resource allocation

A first device receives information indicating changed network conditions for a network supporting a call with a second device at a first audio bit rate, and provides, to the second device, a packet instructing use of a second audio bit rate. The first device starts a timer associated with receiving an indication that the second device is using the second audio bit rate, and receives, from the second device, a response packet at the first audio bit rate. The first device determines that the timer has expired, and provides, to the second device, additional packets instructing use of the second audio bit rate. The first device determines that a threshold quantity of additional packets have been provided to the second device, and re-negotiates the second audio bit rate with the second device. The first device continues the call with the second device at the second audio bit rate.

Adapting an audio bit rate based on changing network conditions

In some implementations, a device may receive file location information identifying a file to be transferred to a user device associated with the first network provider. The file location information identifies a domain name associated with a second network provider. The device may provide, based on the file location information, a first request to obtain one or more first records. The one or more first records identify a first supplemental content device. The device may provide, based on the one or more first records, a second request to obtain one or more second records. The one or more second records identify a second supplemental content device. The device may obtain, based on the one or more second records, the file from the second supplemental content device, and provide the file to the user device.

Systems and methods for obtaining a file via analysis of file location records

In some implementations, a device may receive file location information identifying a file to be transferred to a user device associated with the first network provider, wherein the file location information identifies a domain name associated with a second network provider. The device may provide, based on the file location information, a request to obtain one or more records associated with the domain name. The device may receive the one or more records based on the request. The device may selectively obtain, based on the one or more records, the file from a first content device associated with the second network provider or from a second content device associated with a third-party provider. The device may provide the file to the user device.

In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving, at an access point, a first notification from user equipment (UE), the first notification including data representing a capability of the UE; receiving, at the access point, a second notification from the UE, the second notification including data representing a negotiated session parameter; detecting, by the access point, a change in quality of a network link associated with the UE; and disabling, by the access point, a transmission of a recommendation to the UE based on the negotiated session parameter.

An originating user equipment may generate a request to utilize a service that links over-the-top content with a voice call, and may provide the request to an entitlement server of a core network associated with the originating user equipment. The originating user equipment may receive, from the entitlement server, information verifying entitlement of the originating user equipment for the service. The information may include a tag identifying the service. The originating user equipment may provide an invite message, with the tag, to a terminating user equipment and may establish the voice call with the terminating user equipment based on providing the invite message and via an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) network and the core network. The originating user equipment may establish, concurrently with the voice call, a connection for the over-the-top content with the terminating user equipment via a data network and the core network.

A device may receive, from a user equipment, a token request associated with an application, wherein the token request is associated with a device identifier. The device may generate a device token for the application and the user equipment. The device may provide, using the device identifier, the device token to the user equipment to enable a user to access the application via an application platform. The device may receive, from the application platform, a slice request for a network slice of a network that is to be used for an application session. The device may determine that the user equipment is associated with the application session based on the device token and the device identifier. The device may configure a network slice instance of the network slice. The device may determine a user equipment route selection policy for the application session according to the network slice instance.

A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. A method may include establishing a Fifth Generation (5G) a network connection with a user equipment (UE) device and receiving, by a 5G wireless station, information associated with handling voice communication sessions for the UE device. The method may also include receiving information, from the UE device or directed to the UE device, associated with a first voice communication session, signaling a Fourth Generation (4G) wireless station to establish a connection to the UE device, in response to receiving the information associated with the first voice communication session and establishing, by the 4G wireless station, a connection to the UE device. The method may further include conducting the first voice communication session over a 4G network, determining whether the first voice communication session has terminated and determining whether to reconnect to the 5G network, in response to determining that the first voice communication session has terminated.

A network device receives an indication to establish a session for an internet protocol (IP) service between a first device and a second device, wherein the network device is part of a local network with the first device and another network device. The network device identifies a service tag to include in a service tag field of a session request. The other network device causes the session request that includes an updated service tag to be provided to the second device. The second device provides a session response with the service tag to the other network device, the other network device updates the session response to include the original service tag and provides an updated session response to the network device. The network device causes the session to be established.
