Controlling total emission current of an electron emitting construct in an x-ray emitting device by providing a cathode, providing multiple active areas each active area having a gated cone electron source, including multiple emitter tips arranged in an array, a gate electrode, and a gate interconnect lead connected to the gate electrode, providing an x-ray emitting construct comprising an anode, the anode being an x-ray target, situating the x-ray emitting construct facing the active areas face each other, selecting a set of active areas, and activating selected active areas by conductively connecting a voltage source to their associated the gate electrode interconnect lead.

The disclosure relates to an image capture device comprising an electron receiving construct and an electron emitting construct, and further comprising an inner gap providing an unobstructed space between the electron emitting construct and the electron receiving construct. A color cathode ray tube having an electron beam source has a glass panel with a plurality of fluorescent stripes and a plurality of black stripes located between each two adjacent fluorescent stripes. An aperture grill is located between the electron beam source and the glass panel. A plurality of parallel grill tapes are located between an upper part and a lower part of the aperture grill, and a plurality of slits are provided between each two adjacent grill tapes. The inside stress of a center grill tape is expressed by .alpha., the length of the grill tape at a center of the aperture grill is expressed by L.sub.0, and a grill tape pitch of the aperture grill is expressed by P.sub.ag. A color selecting structure for a TRINITRON cathode-ray tube, in which color phosphor stripes are provided and a single electron gun emits three beams, capable of minimizing vertical fringes that deteriorate the quality of a picture displayed on the screen and of attenuating the vibration of a FAG (framing aperture grille plate), includes a thin plate having a plurality of tape-shaped grid (2a) elements and apertures (2a), and fine wires (3) extended across the surface of the aperture grille plate so as to apply a pressure in the range of 6.73.times.10.sup.-6 lbf., 2.24.times.10.sup.-5 lbf. to each grid element (2a).

Color selecting structure for a cathode-ray tube

A color cathode-ray tube where an electron beam selection mask with an aperture grille type beam selection electrode of a thin metal plate attached to a frame is supported by engagement of stud pins with support springs and is thereby positioned stably opposite to a color luminescent screen formed on the inner surface of a panel. A projection is formed on either the top of each stud pin or the bottom of each cap opposed thereto, while a recess is formed in the other for engagement with the projection in the direction orthogonal to the action of the support spring. The mutual contact portions of such projection and recess are coated with solid lubricant films so that the beam selection mask can be reset at its proper position despite any external impact applied thereto. The elasticity constant of the frame is selectively set at a desired value with additional disposition of reinforcing plates having the same thermal expansion coefficient as that of the frame, thereby averting vibration of the beam selection mask. And rotary mechanisms are formed relative to the support springs and are rotated in accordance with thermal expansion of the frame, so that the frame is shifted toward the panel surface having a color luminescent screen thereon, whereby mislanding of the electron beam due to temperature rise in the beam selection mask can be prevented.

A method for constructing a color cathode ray tube wherein a light source is placed at a number of positions and exposures are made and a film on the inside surface of the panel is exposed to form prescribed stripe width patterns using the transmission light intensity distribution which are superposed plural Fresnel diffraction waveforms and wherein correction lens system is selected which correspond to the exposure of various light source positions and have different values and the absolute value of the transmission light intensity distribution and the derivative .differential.I/.differential.x of the transmission light intensity distribution at positions corresponding to the edge of the stripe width pattern are optimized throughout the inside surface of the panel.
