Provided is a manufacturing method for a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin that has superior fluidity and for which a good color and a sufficiently high molecular weight can be achieved. A manufacturing method for a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin includes: a step in which a dialcohol compound expressed by general formula (1) and a catalyst are mixed to obtain a catalyst composition; a step in which the obtained catalyst composition is kept in a molten state, and is mixed with an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer within ten hours after obtaining the catalyst composition, to obtain a prepolymer mixture; and a high molecular weight achievement step in which the obtained prepolymer mixture is heat-treated under reduced pressure conditions to obtain a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin.

Manufacturing method for high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin

Provided is a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin manufacturing method that suppresses the occurrence of heterogeneous structures and can achieve a sufficiently high molecular weight. A high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin manufacturing method including: a step in which a dialcohol compound expressed by general formula (1) and a catalyst are mixed to obtain a catalyst composition; a step in which the obtained catalyst composition is transferred to a prepolymer mixing tank via a transfer pipe, with a transfer period of 10 hours or less; a step in which the transferred catalyst composition and an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer are mixed in the prepolymer mixing tank to obtain a prepolymer mixture; and a high molecular weight achievement step in which the obtained prepolymer mixture is heat-treated under reduced pressure conditions to obtain a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin.

A high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin manufacturing method that can achieve good quality and sufficiently high molecular weight includes: a step in which a dialcohol compound expressed by general formula (1) and a catalyst are mixed to obtain a catalyst composition; a step in which the obtained catalyst composition is transferred to a prepolymer mixing tank via a transfer pipe; a step in which the transferred catalyst composition and an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer are mixed in the prepolymer mixing tank, under a pressure that is greater than or equal to the vapor pressure of the dialcohol compound at the temperature of the prepolymer mixing tank and is less than or equal to 5 MPa, to obtain a prepolymer mixture; and a high molecular weight achievement step in which the obtained prepolymer mixture is heat-treated under reduced pressure conditions to obtain a high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate resin.

The present invention is to provide a process for producing a high molecular-weight aromatic polycarbonate resin, the process includes mixing a dialcohol compound represented by the following Formula (1) with a first catalyst to obtain a catalyst composition; mixing the obtained catalyst composition with an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer to obtain a prepolymer mixture; and obtaining a high molecular-weight aromatic polycarbonate by subjecting the obtained prepolymer mixture to heating treatment under reduced pressure condition. In the Formula (1), Rto Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and the like. Q represents a divalent group or a single bond. 

Process for producing a high molecular-weight aromatic polycarbonate resin

The present invention provides a method for producing a branched aromatic polycarbonate resin that is molecular weight-increased, which comprises subjecting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer and a linking agent comprising a trifunctional or more of an aliphatic polyol compound to transesterification reaction in the presence of a transesterification catalyst under a reduced pressure condition.

The invention provides a process for producing a highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin including a molecular weight-increasing step of reacting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer with an aliphatic diol compound represented by Formula (g2) in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to obtain a highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin. Process for producing highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin

The present invention provides a process for preparing a highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin which not only has excellent quality such that it has high molecular weight and high fluidity, but also has more excellent heat resistance. The process of the present invention comprises a highly polymerizing step for reacting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer with an aliphatic diol compound of the following formula (I) having hydroxymethyl groups (HO&#x2014;CH&#x2014;) each bonded to a quaternary carbon atom in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to obtain a highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin: wherein Ra to Rf, n, and m are as defined in the present specification and claims.

The present invention provides an aromatic polycarbonate resin composition having a high molecular weight and less amount of a heterologous structure, retaining good qualities, and excellent in thermal stability, and an improved preparation process thereof.

The present inventions provide processes for producing a highly polymerized aromatic polycarbonate resin comprising a highly-polymerizing process wherein an aromatic polycarbonate is reacted with an aliphatic diol compound represented by formula (g1) in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to increase the molecular weight: wherein Ra and Rb each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, and 'm' represents an integer of 1-30.

A high molecular weight polycarbonate resin is continuously produced by subjecting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer and an aliphatic diol compound to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction. Even an aliphatic diol compound having a comparatively low boiling point can be allowed to efficiently contribute to the linking and highly polymerizing reaction. An aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer is produced by a polycondensation reaction between an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a diester carbonate, adding an aliphatic diol compound having an aliphatic group bonding to a terminal hydroxyl group to obtain a prepolymer mixture, and subjecting the resulting prepolymer mixture to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction under reduced pressure. The aliphatic diol compound is added at a pressure exceeding 200 torr, and the prepolymer mixture is subjected to a linking and highly polymerizing reaction before the terminal hydroxyl group concentration of the aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer in the prepolymer mixture reaches 2000 ppm.

Method for continuous production of high molecular weight polycarbonate resin

A branched aromatic polycarbonate resin having a degree of branching (N value) controlled within a specific range is manufactured by subjecting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer that has a branched structure introduced using a specific amount of a branching agent to molecular-weight-increasing linking reaction with an aliphatic diol compound in the presence of a transesterification catalyst under the condition of a reduced pressure. The amount (A) of the branching agent used is adjusted on the basis of the correlation between the amount (A) of the branching agent used and the N value of the branched aromatic polycarbonate resin.
