An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may detect a risk of collision with one or more objects in an airspace serviced by a mobile edge computing (MEC) node. The MEC node may provide an edge detect and avoid (edge-DAA) function for use in the airspace. The UAV may determine a first resolution advisory (RA) to be acted on in order to avoid the collision with the one or more objects based on a local DAA function within the UAV. The UAV may receive, from the MEC node, a second RA to be acted on in order to avoid the collision with the one or more objects based on the edge-DAA function. If the second RA can be acted onto avoid the collision with the one or more objects, the UAV may act on the second RA and may send a message to the MEC node with an acknowledgement.

Methods of a mobile edge computing (MEC) deployment for unmanned aerial system traffic management (UTM) system applications

An unmanned aerial system (UAS) may execute a mission planned by a UAS traffic management (UTM) system. The UAS may receive a mission planning response message from the UTM that includes a mission route for the UAS to navigate and a configuration of one or more trigger events. The mission route may be made up of a sequence of waypoints in an airspace. Each of the waypoints may be configured with a dynamic path conforming profile (PCP) a dynamic required navigation performance (RNP) value. The UAS may monitor at least the RNP value in one or more time intervals to determine if a trigger event occurs. The UAS may transmit a path conformance status report to the UTM upon determining that a trigger event of the one or more trigger events occurred. The path conformance status report may indicate conformance to one or more parameters specified in the PCP.

A portable device controlling playback of video data on a first device external to the portable device and including a browser module operative to present a display of a plurality of images, each image corresponding to a section of the video data, and to highlight an image corresponding to the section of the video data currently played back by the first device, a communication module coupled to the browser module and operative, in response to a selection of an image among the plurality of images by a user, to transmit a first command to the first device to play back the video data corresponding to the image selected by the user, wherein the browser module is further operative to adapt highlighting of the plurality of images in response to a second command received from said first device upon a change of the section of video data currently played back on the first device.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for media caching proxy techniques (e.g., applications) that enable caching of multimedia content delivered, for example, using the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) protocol. A request may be received from a client for a media presentation description (MPD) file relating to media content. The media content may comprise a plurality of media segments. An MPD file may be received from cache. A subset of the plurality of media segments of the media content stored within the cache may be determined. An available bandwidth on a backhaul link may be determined. A dynamic MPD file may be generated based on the MPD file, the subset of the plurality of media segments of the media content that is stored within the cache of the middle box platform, and/or the available bandwidth on the backhaul link. The dynamic MPD file may be transmitted to the client.

Embodiments include methods, systems, and apparatuses for content delivery using shared caching, and more specifically, a browser cache extension (BCE) between a local browser cache and a remote cache located on an edge server. In an embodiment, a remote BCE function on the edge server may create a shared cache folder containing a remote cache and an remote cache index file. A local BCE function in the local browser may be able to access the shared cache folder via a network file system (NFS) protocol. The local BCE function may merge the remote index file with a local index file from the local browser and retrieve the remote cache at the local browser.

In one embodiment of the method, semantics associated with shorter time intervals in the video content are replayed in trick mode play proportionally slower than semantics associated with longer time intervals, wherein the proportionally is determined, at least in part, to the time interval associated with each semantic. In various embodiments, semantics can include scenes, audio, metadata, tags, and the like. The semantics based trick mode play approach allows for a more uniform viewing experience, on a time duration basis, from one semantic to the next.

A method of a mobile station receiving data packets from a serving base station via a multicast or broadcast connection in a wireless network is provided for performing a handover from the serving base station to a target base station. According to the invention, a seamless handover of a mobile station in a wireless network providing Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS service) can be achieved to prevent the MBS service interruption during the handover.
