A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells arranged in a same direction and a same orientation; and a housing portion disposed on the outer surfaces of the plurality of battery cells. In the battery module, the housing portion includes a reinforcing plate positioned between at least two of the battery cells. The reinforcing plate is part of the housing portion, and strengthens the housing portion, thereby enabling a lighter weight battery module and improving the safety of the battery module.

A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells, a busbar holder on the battery cells, the busbar holder having a plurality of busbars coupling neighboring battery cells of the plurality of battery cells to each other, and a circuit board on the busbar holder and defining a plurality of fastening openings along its perimeter. The circuit board is coupled to the busbar holder with a plurality of fastening members coupled to first fastening openings defined on the busbar holder. The circuit board has a component for controlling and monitoring recharging and discharging of the battery cells coupled to the circuit board.

Battery module having improved safety

A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells aligned along one direction, each of the plurality of battery cells including terminals at first surfaces of the battery cells. A holder is on the first surfaces of the battery cells and has a groove. A frame surrounds side surfaces adjacent to the first surfaces of the battery cells and includes a first bent portion that is at least partially inserted into the groove.

A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells aligned in one direction, each battery cell of the plurality of battery cells including a terminal portion on a first surface of a respective battery cell, a bus-bar electrically connect between the terminal portions of the plurality of battery cells, and a bus-bar holder positioned on the first surfaces of the plurality of battery cells, the bus-bar holder including support portions configured to support two different surfaces of the bus-bar, respectively.

The holder is on the plurality of battery cells and has an opening through which the terminal is exposed. The bus-bar is has a portion in the opening of the holder and electrically couples adjacent ones of the plurality of battery cells. The holder includes a bus-bar fastening portion at an area corresponding to the terminal and an exhaust portion at an area corresponding to the vent. The bus-bar fastening portion and the exhaust portion are integrally formed.

A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells arranged in a first direction, a pair of end plates adjacent to outermost battery cells of the plurality of battery cells, the pair of end plates extending along the plurality of battery cells in a second direction and being spaced apart along the first direction, and at least one bush member coupled to each of the end plates.
