An electrical connector includes an insulating body having a main body and a mating portion. The main body includes a base and an insertion portion extending forward from the base. The mating portion protrudes forward out of the insertion portion. A metal latch member is mounted on the main body and provided with a latch portion to latch a mating connector. Multiple conductors are respectively received in the mating portion. Multiple cables are electrically connected to the conductors. An assisting member is fixed to the base and extending forward relative to the base. A first position limiting slot is formed between the assisting member and the mating portion. A second position limiting slot is formed between the assisting member and the insertion portion, and is in communication with the first position limiting slot. The latch portion is upward exposed out of the assisting member.

Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly with an assisting member for guiding

An electrical connector includes a body, multiple terminals and a shell. The body includes a mating cavity defined by a top plate, a bottom plate and two side plates. The top plate and the bottom plate are respectively provided with multiple accommodating grooves, which include a wider first accommodating groove and a narrower second accommodating groove. Each terminal has an elastic portion accommodated in a corresponding accommodating groove. A first clearance is provided between the elastic portion and a side of the first accommodating groove close to the corresponding side plate. A second clearance is provided between the elastic portion and a side of the second accommodating groove close to the first accommodating groove. The first clearance is greater than the second clearance The shell has a top wall and two side walls. A mating port being defined by the front ends thereof is larger than the mating cavity.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and a mating connector that are mutually inserted. The mating connector includes a socket and a metal shell having an insertion end protruding from the socket formed with an opening. The electrical connector includes an insulating body and an assisting member. The insulating body includes a main body and a mating portion. An upper surface of the main body is higher than that of the mating portion. An interface is formed in the front end of the main body and is positioned behind the socket. The mating portion is smaller than the opening. The assisting member covers the insulating body. A front end of the assisting member guides the insertion of the insertion end. An accommodation space is formed between the assisting member and the main body to receive only the metal shell.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body having a base portion, which includes a mating chamber enclosed by a top plate, a bottom plate and two side plates. The mating chamber allows a insertion portion of a mating connector to insert backward therein. The top and bottom plates are provided with multiple accommodating grooves. A projection protrudes from each side plate. The projection has a highest point higher than the mating chamber, and a lowest point lower than the mating chamber. Multiple terminals are correspondingly accommodated in the accommodating grooves. A shielding shell has a top wall and two side walls. A mating port is enclosed by the top wall and front ends of the two side walls and located in front of the projection, and is larger than the mating chamber. Each side wall is respectively and correspondingly provided with a fitting portion to fit with the projection.

An electrical connector includes: an insulating body having multiple accommodating holes; and multiple terminals accommodated in the accommodating holes. Each terminal has a base portion. An elastic arm bends upward and extends from the base portion. A contact portion bends and extends from the elastic arm. A width of the contact portion is greater than a width of the elastic arm at a bending portion connecting the elastic arm to the base portion, which is less than or equal to widths of the remaining portions of the elastic arm. A first urging portion bends downward and extends from the contact portion. A bending arm bends and extends from a lower end of the base portion. The bending arm bends to form a conductive portion. The conductive portion bends upward and extends to form a second urging portion. The first urging portion urges against the second urging portion.

A slot runs through the contact portion, the first elastic portion and the second elastic portion. A bending arm bends and extends from a lower end of the base portion.
